I don't know if you're going by scores but the UCLA one is deceiving, as far as their defense is concerned. UCLA had 291 yards. Texas outgained them. IIRC 2 of the touchdowns were from turnovers inside the Texas 20, but I might be remembering wrong. I'm still confident we'll do well, but it will be more of a challenge. I'm not too worried about Texas's offense though.

I hate the nickname too. Actually, it would be cool if he was just called Taylor Martinez.

Gomes was about a half second away from one in the second half. It's amazing when you see a team actually throw it to Amukamara, it's like he's part of the other guy's jersey.

I think it's because Lee is a senior, which I know sounds stupid. But Lee has also had way more practice running the offense in game situations than Green had. I'm not saying that means he doesn't need practice, but I think they're trying to get Green more experience because he has less, and he'll be around for more than 4 more months.

I hope they don't screw it up, heh.

He's a Nebraska running QB. No way in hell would he leave early. There would be nothing in it for him.

This is it. I can't see Iowa State being that bad. I've never sensed a lot of hate in that series. That's basically it. I can't see Texas A&M and Oklahoma State being all that pissed. Missouri would have been the worst.

I think it is called Martinez tendency to stare his way no matter what and not look at the whole field. That could just be me though. I agree that he does that, but I think there is a reason he's most comfortable with Kinnie.

I was not actually saying or implying that was a real quote. That was a summary of what he said. Maybe everything inside of the quotes was in white text for you, so I will paste them again here and show you that my summary was accurate: ^ this is the one that annoyed me the most. ^ this annoyed me because what he does with the ball in his hands is hand it off to the other team. He shouldn't be frustrated (or at least not talk to the media about it) if the team is getting yards and winning. That's all that should matter. Just look at Zac Lee for a good example of how someone should talk to the media.

and getting open. If Kinnie is the one getting most of the catches, there's a reason for it. It's not for some made up reason in Paul's head, that he's being ignored 'cause they're a bunch of meanies who aren't paying him enough attention.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's reprimanded somehow. I think he should be. I don't remember hearing a Nebraska player talking that way in public since Bobby Newcombe, and that was after he graduated.

I don't like his attitude in the interview. If he stops fumbling the ball then he can talk.

While I'm a far cry from the majority on here, I think you'll find that most of us Nebraska fans don't hate Mobilehoma as you call them at all. Agreed, junior. And I think most would agree with that. When we leave the Big 12 I'll be rooting for OU more often than not. ^ Oklahoma is my 2nd favorite team.

Nebraska is currently 4th in the nation for Rushing Offense averaging 7.03 yds per carry/309.25 per game. The key part of my quote is "We're not going to end up" and I put that there because I know we're averaging that now, against horrible defenses. I highly doubt that our average will be over 6 at the end but I'll be happy it is. We still have some bad defenses to play, though.

I know you're not asking me, but I didn't consider Frazier a dual-threat. He was smart and awesome at running. They ran it so dang good that the receivers were usually open by 5-15 yards on playaction and if I remember correctly he had 51% accuracy. He basically just had to throw it to the correct third of the field. (I'm not saying he didn't have awesome throwing plays, like the whole last drive against FSU. Just that usually he didn't need to be good at passing and a lot of times he wasn't).

I think the QB needs to be able to pass decently. Like someone pointed out in a different thread, Martinez isn't behind one of the best offensive lines in history. We're not going to end up averaging 7-8 yards per carry (or whatever crazy number it was in 1995). I thought he looked really good passing against Washington, and then really bad against SDS. Hopefully the good passing is the norm.

Comparing stats this way has never made sense. We've had bad running backs go for over 100 yards against us. That puts us back where we started. (I'm sure someone will probably chime in about our defense experimenting). I still think Nebraska will win by a lot, and I won't be surprised if he's held under 100 yards, but Thomas's performance against UCF can be considered as much of a fluke as Nebraska's against SDS.

I hope so. Oklahoma was almost the only reason any of us felt even a little bad about leaving the Big 12. Seconded. I want a permanent series.
