  1. RIP Adrian and condolences to the family. A Husker through and through, 100%.
  2. Pretty much sums it up for me as well. Hope for everyone's sake things go great these next X years!
  3. Great time fellas, amazing weather and THANK GOD for Count's brother's knife.....no limes = no Moscow Mules = Empty Copper Mug = Me sad. P.S. Our QBs were horrible yesterday........looks like a square peg round hole situation, and I'm an optimist!
  4. Teach as much as it sounds like you drink you should know the rule when it comes to shark waters. 1 is fine but anything more than that is asking for trouble. Whatever, don't be a wiener. Just drink them until you aren't thirsty anymore. I like the way you think! One of the four in the group is causing a bit of an issue...the idea of getting to Lincoln early is not very appealing to him...he would rather stay late. I want to kill him...but he is also a super fun drinker! FWIW - I'll be pouring and slamming Moscow Mule's at the tailgate like they are going out of style very quickly.

  7. Hey man, I can't answer for everyone here, but I suggested in an earlier post if you want to come and consume, bring whatever floats your boat to contribute. I'm not sure what I'm bringing yet, but it's usually something like a bunch of stuff to make sandwiches. If it's gonna be chilly this year, I'm bringing my patio heater I think.
  8. It's legal in some places and the legalization movement is picking up steam. We now have 4 States with legal recreational and almost half with medicinal weed legal. It will be legal nationwide soon enough and then people won't be able to be denied jobs because of weed. Your last statement is false. Even if it becomes legal in all states, a person could still get denied employment from it. It would be no different then failing a piss test for alcohol during pre-employment screening. Yep, this is true. And, because of the longevity it stays in the system (20-45 days), compliance issues around it in the states that have it legalized are quite challenging. There's no way to answer (*yet) 'when' the person smoked it, so it has to be zero tolerance at this point. Especially in medical and construction careers, where safety is priority #1. Can't have someone stoned on the job. Anyway, I digress......still what a bonehead decision by Gregory, especially given what appears to be such effort and desire he has put in and has for playing in the NFL.
  9. It's weed, agree it will be legal everywhere in a matter of time and who the heck cares. It has incredible medical uses, including fixing sh!tty attitudes and proof is starting to come out that it is a far better choice (if one MUST make one) between alcohol and itself. I don't buy for one second that he used it for 'coping' and that his first time was after HS. HOWEVER, as True2RA says, it's the choice. It's not a secret in any imagined world that testing positive for weed will cost you money and maybe your job in many companies...not the least of which is the NFL. Most executives in the NFL aren't going to say: Well, this kid is a druggie..we don't want him. No, they will say: If he can't sacrifice 30 days of not smoking some chronic, then what else won't he sacrifice for the good of our team? And...that will be that. He'll still get drafted high and make millions, there are case studies aplenty in the NFL that prove that, however, based on history this probably won't be his last poor choice.
  10. Oh yea man, there are balconies that have a perfect view of that huge jumbotron screen thinger. Plus, you could parachute into a killer crowd! Illinois last year was a friggin blast...homecoming and the weather was top notch perfect. I love watching games there....maybe as much as going into the game (not really), but seriously I'm a drunk, so maybe.
  11. This was great...see ya in a couple weeks.
  12. I'll be there, will bring the usual tables and canopy. Plan on getting there around 9 to get that back corner spot. And yes 'count...A GAGGLE! No clue on what we're bringing for food yet, but it usually works out if we all just do a pot luck, so I say the rule of thumb is: If you are joining in, bring something to share (drinks are acceptable!!!!).
  13. I'll be in the JS parking lot as usual. Awesome! What time are you guys thinking? I hadn't really talked about it much with the group here. I will be there around 9 with my; immediate family, to get a good spot back in the corner there by the building. I have a gaggle of folks coming probably at the 10 or 11 timeframe.
  14. Must see to believe. I wrote this a while back, but just did it again this past weekend. Man shoulder clod is good stuff... http://www.bbqrevolution.com/smoked-whole-waygu-shoulder-clod/
  15. The last line is false... yeah well. Meanwhile we got teams digging up and claiming umpteen random national titles from the 20's and 30's. I'm sure no one'll care. Agree. Exploit away. The sellout streak and the Blackshirts are hands down the two most powerful marketing tools Husker football has at it's disposal.
  16. Nate Clouse is doing one in Gretna next Thursday night. It's $20 at the Legion out there. I'll post more details once I get them. I'll be there.
  17. Also, I have a big family / friend group again. I'll be heading down early and if that damn blue mustang is there again, I'm going to pull the drive shaft out and roll it the heck out of the way.
  18. From what I'm hearing is Riley takes signing day more seriously than Pelini. Hopefully you get to see the film breakdown. Are the dinners your referring to at a church or smaller facility like that? Yea, or a banquet hall. The BC one was at a hall on 120th and Maple (that big wedding hall place). It was only like $50. Last couple of years was at the Elkhorn VFW. Probably going to skip the Lincoln one this year with the $hitty weather on 80. Thanks for the link - that's great. Riley and co are so open with this stuff...it's crazy. It's smart too....fighting it (as has been discussed at length) just makes it even tougher!
  19. That $600 / plate dinner isn't what I'm looking for. They are usually like $20 or $40 a plate and in Omaha. That is cool though! I've been to at least 5 of them over the years. The Callahan one's were uber-produced and HUGE (2006 was awesome), Bill actually did all the film breakdown for the group. I think they are fun, honestly. Auctions / Raffels and a decent meal usually. Watching film being broke down by coached is pretty cool. We had the TAs last year, but was still cool. They are easier to corner into answering questions they shouldn't be answering.....
  20. I just picked up some more, west side as well (sec 26...50 yd line). I have 6 tix in row 30, 6 tix in row 40.
  21. Clarification: 2 free tix for each paid (vice versa of what you said I think???)
  22. Usually go to the Eagle Club in Elkhorn...but no dice this year. Figured as much with the new staff having far more to worry about..but...does anyone know of one happening tonight / this week?
