  1. This dude is an incredible representative for NU. Want nothing but the best for him this year and beyond. Yet another incredible person. Yet another incredible running back who has come through this place.

  3. Hi guys - do we need anything else for the tailgate? Here's what I'm bringing: 2 tables; Extension cords; Stuff for Sandwiches (meats, cheese, bread); Probably some munchies. Full coolers that will have space free up as the AM goes by. Trash bags. Audio gear of some sort; Inverter if we need it (hopefully the cords reach a plug on the building); I'll have a 10x10 canopy if the weather looks like it might rain...but that won't cover more than my little ones / parents. I'll have a flag pole with an American and a red NU flag flying unless the wind is ridiculous (attaches to truck...don't want it banging against). I'm counting on: Plates, Napkins, etc being brought by someone else. Other foods, etc. I'll be there at 9AM; again I drive a black expedition and I'll put my Hot Grill on Grill Action logo magnets on it. If I'm not the first there, let's find a spot that is both in the sun and out of the wind if at all possible, with near an outlet being a factor too. If anyone can think of anything 'tailgate-ish' that I don't have above that might be helpful, let me know. I probably have it and have space to bring it. My grills / smokers aren't coming tho......they only fit in the toy hauler which isn't coming with. If you need my number, PM me. P.S. - I'm not seriously bringing the flabongos, but do have like 15 of them if someone objects. I feel strongly both ways...haha. My wife and kids are used to this kind of incredibly immature adult activity......but it's not for everyone..... P.P.S. - if anyone brings Maker's Mark.......well........ Looking forward to catching up with all of you and sharing the experience with you and my family / friends coming.
  4. Just catching up...awesome on the smokies, plates, chips, cookies, napkins, razors, mirrors, etc. Can't wait to get hit with a flabongo. I'll check in here Friday to look for last minute items I might need to bring. I have enough table space for us, I think, so we'll be good there. See ya all Saturday and if it's early enough I'll probably remember seeing you!
  5. Oh the chips. Drooling all over again! Kids definitely welcome. Which reminds me, I better pack up the Flabongos....... (or not...google it for those that don't recall).
  6. For anyone going, I'll be in a Black Expedition EL King Ranch, so look for that. I also will put up my NU flag pole if the wind isn't too crazy. I'm bringing bread, meat and cheese (and toppings) for a sandwich bar. Anyone coming that wants to contribute sides, munchies, etc that goes with that - thanks in advance!!!!! I don't have a head count, but I'll have plenty I'm sure.
  7. BTW - we are going to go away from the building and into the sunlight this year. I'll be there right at 9 as well to get buzzed....errrrr......my stuff setup and reserve a couple other spots for those joining us.
  8. yeah, that's true. in the shade, it was cold up there. Not really sure. How's about some extentions cords. I got a 100' and some 50's. Why cant we just do that if there aint? Yep, that works. I have a bunch of cords in my trailer too, so I'll snag those. Let's definately get out in the sun (if it is like last year).
  9. Yep! 9AM is my plan as well, just confirmed it with my wife. Leaving O-town just after 8AM. I loved the electrical hookups by the wall there...but man, Landlord brought up a good point in our PM...the shade was terrible! Does anyone know if there are hookups on any of those poles? I have some plugs in my truck if need be.
  10. What's up fools. I want a friendship bracelet! I'll be in the same exact spot as last year, going to try to get there early. I'm bringing a big crew (at least 10 of us....family / kids / cousins). I'll have a cooler full of brews, something in a crockpot I'm sure and sandwich stuff...likely. Haven't quite gotten that far yet...been traveling my @$$ off this year and had not time in Omaha to think about this stuff. Oh, on top of that bracelet, I'm eating half of those Eileen's cookies.
  11. Charlie Starkweather Tom Osborne? Taylor Martinez? William Jennings Bryan? Lee Terry?
  12. I don't know. If microphones were running around him 24/7 and the right agenda was ripe......a tape of him saying something extraordinary about the fans is quite possible.....safe might be a stretch. Sorry - Knapp...totally not taking sides nor am I attacking you. Just keep responding to your posts for whatever reason......and playing devil's advocate. I still maintain that the angst, the warmth and all things Bo vs Fans/Media is somewhere near the middle of the extremes folks keep expressing.
  13. Kind of seems like it was with the media first, which in turn made the fans lash out towards Bo for not handling things more "appropriately" or doing a better job of representing the university. Don't get me wrong, Bo has dug his own grave with the fans with audiogate and some of the other things he's said, but this whole "Bo Pelini is a big angry meanie" mentality has been perpetuated by the media. That's just it. "The fans" aren't lashing out at Bo. The vast, vast majority of us are behind him. He's our coach, our guy, and while he's here he gets our support. Those fans are with him today, through the A&M fiasco in 2009, the various incidents making local and national news throughout his career, even through the tape release earlier this year and the really bad day he had last Friday. The vocal fans who are truly against Bo are the minority, and lash out on social media. There are no boos in the stadium, no scorn heaped on him as he walks around town. I don't think Bo is against the vast, vast majority of fans either. He's just taking the minority too personal and vocalizing it from time to time and in turn, the vast vast majority of fans take it personal, just as Bo does. Like I was saying above: It's human nature (and in fact quite natural) to be defensive when reality isn't clearly understood to be somewhere in the middle of extremes.
  14. I honestly think the issue here is simply human nature. Unfortunately, the negativity is the noisiest and Bo takes it personal, so he gets defensive, puts up his guard and....just as he is taking it that 'all fans' are against him....fans take it as he is against 'all fans'. It's blurred to me who is right...but as with everything in life...it's probably somewhere in the middle.
  15. I don't do any of those things. Bo Pelini still needs to improve. I don't think anyone would say he doesn't need to improve. I think what unfair is writing someone off because we're uncomfortable with his faults that. Honestly nearly everyone agrees he is different in the media portrayal than in one on one accounts with his team and people who are with him daily. Which is more likely to be true? Yes, this. And I'll add: Who the in the helll doesn't need to improve themselves both personally and professionally?
  16. Man.....I can see him eeking out 100. I can also see something like 32 yards. All depends on olay calling.
  17. Exactly. He's a leader. This is not a discussion on experience and skillset. In that regard. obviously a healthy Martinez is better. But this is about intangible qualities. Qualities that have been a knock on Taylor since game 1-in 2010. This is nothing new that was brought up out of the blue to suddenly support Tommy now. it's been hammered over and over and over over the course of the past 4 seasons. A qb is the leader of the TEAM. Not just the offense. I've seen Tommy on the sidelines with defenders even talking. After the goaline stand against Northwestern he was on the sideline pattin the defense for savin his ass. There's just more to it than points, yards, touchdowns, and 40-yard times. I'm with you on this. It makes me think of all the times we heard post game comments from TM about "my offense" and what not, when it should always be "my team"!!! I like that Armstrong has a level of accountability (no pun intended!) that he holds all facets of the team to. It's about a high standard of excellence that is required to gain respect. And he really does come off as someone that forces you to earn that respect.....regardless of whatever role on the team. I sure hope it's just the beginning of a mindset change on the whole team......regardless of who is playing whatever position.
  18. Would have been great to get Colter.....but not too long ago Carnes was the next T Fraz! Just like TA
