  1. That's the problem I'm having, what I know is these courses did fall on the approved list and now the NCAA is having issue with it? How many credits can you get during the summer?
  2. I was told where Jackson took the courses they are accredited. That is a good sign then. When you say "there's nothing the NCAA can do" what do you mean? There's an obstacle here that I can not disclose unless the family allows me however I feel you might know something that might speed things up. No problem, if a student attends an accredited high school, JC or takes classes online from an accredited high school (there are not to many but some high schools work with students) or JC, then the NCAA has no way to hold things up. The NCAA works WITH accredited schools, not against them. The NCAA has issues with what has been coined "Diploma mills". These are the things that you would check into. 1. Is the school accredited (you said it was, so thats good) 2. Was the class taken at his high school (classes taken outside the students school will get a red flag OR be very very delayed in getting reported to the new school or NCAA, this is totally common) 3. Was the class taken in an area that was required (The NCAA has some new rules about core classes) 4. Was the class graded or was is pass/no pass (this can cause a hold up sometimes) That is all I can think of right now, if it is nothing that falls under those things then I would have to know what it was to have an idea of what the issue is. The safest thing to do is talk to the principal or superintendent of the school and have them deal with the NCAA. He took Alg II a&b, Physics A&B, and Spanish A&B, all 4-5 hrs long from what I'm told. 1) we're clear 2)taken at Private School & grades transfered fine to HS transcript 3)all core 4)grades, c's.b's, and a's I'm hearing the problem maybe that he took so many, but there's no limit on how many courses you can take in the summer. Hell as long as their core why should that matter?

  5. The last I heard he had to maintain a B in the course he was taking, and he had an A. If the clearing house screws us over again, I might loose my freakin' mind. Apparently this just surfaced on them. Rick is contacting Talman about the situation which will be on RSS.
  6. ***********UPDATE************ There has been some rumblings, and I do mean rumblings, on how the NCAA is handling Jackson's eligibility. All I know is that it has something to do with the courses he took last summer and some "new rule" that the NCAA has about eligibility which has the family pissed. Once I know more I will try to make sense of this development. FWIW his grades are solid in this one class he's taking which ends tomorrow!
  7. *********UPDATE*********** CJ one week progress and he got an A! Stay on them books CJ and you can control your future!
  8. i'm guessing osborne and pj might have something to say about who starts at safety in 2012. you're probably right about the corners, though i wouldn't count out green, mitchell or bell. either way, we should continue having great secondaries for the foreseeable future. Corners - DENNARD Evans (Mitchell, Middleton, Green, and Bell are all pushing very hard. Safties - Osbourne and Cooper. Just my prediction, a lot of time left and a lot of guys pushing hard. IMO, When Jackson makes it to Lincoln, gets reps, he will be in the rotation. Too physical of a corner to keep on the sideline and if Beck gets a chance to use him on the offensive side of the ball....(speechless). CJ tore it up at WR at A&M camp, ran the ball very well during his SR season, and special teams..example 2 fake punts of over 50yds, 2 TD's. Dude's an athlete and Bo n Co. will take his raw talent to the NFL, IMO. Not saying he can't, but he will have his work cut out for him as soon as he gets here if he wants to play immediately. No doubt, no doubt! He needs to make sure his mind is right before he steps foot in Lincoln! Like you said, he will have his work cut out for him!

  10. He's starts a two week course on Monday. Sorry for the delay in response.
  11. Looks like the NCAA strikes again. Jackson will not be in Lincoln as planned until August. He has to take another class to qualify based on GPA NCAA calculated which was not what they wanted to hear. This is a blow to Jackson however he understands it's nobodies fault but his own. If he would've studied harder early on, he would not leave his fate to the NCAA. A side note though, his dad has been working out with CJ and other college bound athletes to prepare them for the two-a-days to come.
  12. ******UPDATE***** He got the score needed via the ACT!!! Now waiting on NCAA to clear. As slow as these guys are his Dad is hoping to hear something soon, so CJ can report for second session!! There was a backdoor rumor that NCAA is looking into the classes he took last summer to get GPA up and the family is pissed because it's delaying their son and this came out of left field. IMO "IF" this holds true we may not see Jackson till August "IF" he's short and has to take a course before joining the team. I will keep you posted on the developing story.
  13. Orangebloods reports that UT is going after Peat hard. Searels suppose to be to Arizona this or next week. Some Andrus Peat news y'all will like (updated 11 p.m. with big news) Reply Exchanged a couple texts with Tempe Corona Del Sol OL Andrus Peat tonight ... He said he's still very much in communication with the Texas coaches. In fact, UT offensive line coach Stacy Searels emailed him today and Peat is going to try to call Searels tonight. We'll check with him later tonight or tomorrow to get more details on the conversation (if it happens tonight), but Texas is still very much pursuing this one. For those wondering why Texas would continue to make a run at him, Peat has expressed in the past that he'd like to get to Austin for a visit. And it doesn't hurt that he's a freaking incredible talent. See for yourself in the videos below. 11 p.m. update - FYI, hearing coach Searels may be in Tempe next week to check on Peat. 14. How are his grades looking? So far, so good. Charles has the ability to continue to bring his GPA up which he is doing well.
  15. 10.55!! When this kid hits Lincoln IMO he will be the beast everyone will be looking for like SUH!!
  16. Come to think about it, USC was contacting Jackson after he committed to NU. That is interesting strategy.
  17. Charles Jackson ran the 4x100 anchor yesterday. Won overall with a 41.82, best in Texas thus far. Apparently they would done better if not for a tight hamstring on CJ. No worries though, it's minor from what I'm told.
  18. Indeed. Will be sweet if they end up in the same division in the NFL!
  19. I didn't know how to upload the video, but I finally got.....well...okay, my cpu savy friend got it!!!! The speed is strong with this one!!!
  20. If he's good, the faster he gets he name out and in front of coaches the better. Also if he is good, he should only do one day camps unless your sister is trying to get him out the house....LOL!!! Good Luck!!
  21. If the offense changes, I don't see why the staff doesn't go after Shane Rhodes of Klein Collins. He can play RB, SWR, PR, KR, and kid can block his butt off, he may not be huge, but he has talent and football smarts that coaches love on the side line. I believe he is visiting KSU today.
