I mean, how is he ranking his "Top Ten"? By recent success or by prestige? He doesn't make any sense. Some teams are on there because they've done well recently but have no national prestige(Oregon and Boise) while others haven't done anything recently but are very prestigious (Notre Dame and Michigan). Nebraska is roughly equal in prestige to Michigan, for example, but has done way more on the football field since we shared the championship in '97. I really don't understand this guy's point. He really has no comprehension of how large Nebraska's national following is, either. Many cities around the US have a "Husker Bar" or some type of restaurant for Nebraska fans. Very very few other teams, if any, can say that.

Look, I am saying that it is a combination of the two. Not only have we ALWAYS (with what, less than ten exceptions) worn white/red and red/white, but when we deviated, we have not been successful. It is like 95% tradition, 5% superstition. I think that had we gone undefeated in our all-whites or something like that, we would be a little less apprehensive about wearing all-white again. Sorry, but in case you guys haven't noticed, I am very passionate about our uniforms.

I wonder if the completion of the innovation campus or w/e will affect this. Maybe we can get back in in a few years, or with an appeal.

Bayless isn't an idiot. He (and the people he argues against) are just paid to be professional trolls...just like Rick Reilly, Gene Wojciechowski, Stephen A Smith, etc etc. They get paid to write/say things and get a reaction out of them and create argument for the sake of TV. We've lost in our red on white and white on red. This is no excuse or reason to not wear something. We've won 5 national championships in red over white and white over red. We have had zero success in all-red and all-white.

Because looking like Texas is a good reason for wearing them? Of course not. That they look good (if one indeed thinks they do) is a good reason for wearing them. Of course it is a reason. Auburn refuses to wear their orange jerseys for the same reason - not only are they not traditional, but they lost in them. Same goes for all-red and all-white at Nebraska.

If we ever wear all-whites, we need to at least get rid of the pants striping. And black shoes/socks would be a no-no too. Go to either white or red. That being said, i hope we just stick with the red pants.
