  1. Fair enough. It's ironic that this was on the news yesterday, though: Meth in Omaha But, I find it incredibly offensive. I ask that the MODS pull any association of a serious drug problem plaguing the United States and my home state's school. I think it's a serious issue and shouldn't be taken lightly. It's not like I call Nebraska, "Hair Pulling University", right? You guys have the market cornered on that.
  2. I don't know you guys....I'm trying to get a read on my new Husker friends. On one hand, you guys say Mizzou will be a pushover and you'll rack up 60 points, no matter who you wheel out there as QB. On the other hand you say Zac needs to heal and get ready for the Big XII opener (Tigers).
  3. I thought Dan Hoch decommitted from Iowa. Did he commit to Nebraska as well? You guys have a bye week as well, right? You'll have almost two weeks (one day less than the Tigers) to be prepared for October 8. Good luck today. P.S. You didn't answer my M"eth"U question!??!?!
  4. C'mon knapp. I live here in Omaha. See the REPEAT Husker hi-lites on the 4 Husker channels in town. I saw parts of the Tech game and enough coverage to offer up a half-educated analysis. and Strength of Schedule? Are you for real? You can't use that in football. College Basketball maybe, but not in football. You can only use that in the polls....it doesn't come in to play for predictions.
  5. I thought Mizzou looked lethargic. I wasn't scared of a loss during the game, I was just hoping they would cover the spread....which they did. $$ Not making excuses, but Nevada was supposed to be better than what they displayed the first two games. I even layed some dough on them in the first game of the season against Notre Dame. $$ It was their first game of the season at home...they were probably a little pumped up....Mizzou looking to make it 14-0 against non-conference opponents and get out of there with a win....Looking towards Nebraska....all a recipe for disaster. Having said that, I think the Mizzou-Bugeater tilt will be closer than expected, but still a win for the good guys. Good luck today. P.S. Why do you keep referring to Mizzou as M"eth"U? Rather ironic that the first story on the morning KM3 news in Omaha was how easy it was to make meth up here.
  6. Congratulations on the 300 sell outs. Quite impressive. I'm not a big follower of Husker football, but living in Omaha I am exposed to it often. I saw the t-shirts at Hy-Vee last week and actually thought it was cool. I almost bought one for posterity sake. That being said, how about this for a little bit of trivia? Game #1 of the current 300 string was played against none other than the Missouri Tigers. Of course, the Tigers won....
  7. 6 and 6 Come on man at least be in the ballpark. We arent going to come off a 9-4 season and regress that far in Pelinis second year. Thats ridiculous. UNLESS Green is our starter because of injury to Lee but even then I think we will be better than 6-6. BTW By the tone of your posts I suggest you post more frequently in the woodshed. PM any mod or admin for the password. By the word tone I mean that you are out to stir up a reaction IMO which in the shed is not a problem. I'm not trying to troll...not trying to flame...not trying to stir up a reaction.....and I already have the woodshed password. I'm glad you guys have faith in the Huskers, much like I have faith in Mizzou. There are some out here (some that have posted in this thread) that don't drink the Kool-Aid. They might agree with a lot of my predictions. I will post what I honestly think will happen with the Husker games. I'm posting honestly and not trying to be a dik. I predicted the first three games correctly in a pool at work. I'll pick it up with the ULL game. Louisiana-Lafayette - W (Easy win. Huskers named 2009 Sun Belt Champs) Missouri - L (Sorry...but I'm drinking the Tiger juice. I think the Tigers season really starts to roll on October 8) Texas Tech L (Gave Texas a game. This game might go either way, but I'll go with my preseason prediction). Iowa State W (Black hole - easy win) Baylor L (Mizzou had a tough time at Baylor last year. Griffin a year wiser. I'm not convinced the Huskers can contain him. If he gets past the front line, forget it). Oklahoma L (With or without Bradford....it's a loss for the 'skers) Kansas L (Probably the best in the North. Very experienced team) Kansas State W (Snyder dreading his decision to return) Colorado W (Trying to save Hawkins job might bode bad for the Huskers, but I have faith in your team). That my friends is a 6-6 season. At best 7-5 if you can hold off both Texas Tech and Colorado. Your squad better not overlook Baylor. They are tougher than they appear. A definite trap game. I look forward to a retort with no name calling.....you see, I'm trying to play by the rules.
  8. Interestingly enough, the exact same things can be said of Zac Lee compared to Ganz. However, not only is Lee a better runner than Ganz, but he looks like it too. (Ganz always looked awkward running the ball. Effective, but awkward.) The same Zac Lee that half of this message board wanted to bench for Cody Green after the Virginia Tech game?
  9. Congratulations on your 300th sellout. The streak started the year I was born! It also started with a loss against Ol' Mizzou!
  10. I really think Gabbert is the wild card this year. Not only can he gun it down deep, he can also run. He doesn't look like it, but he runs faster than Chase Daniel. As soon as he gets more experience, he will be something special.
  11. When me and buddies went to the game in 2006, we had a 'connection' to the Champions Club parking lot right outside the stadium. We parked over by Haymarket and there were a lot of good tailgate parties goin' on over there. But the lot across from the stadium was the place to be. Tons of hotties and great food. The game was an early one, so most of the tailgating was AFTER the game. I was slightly inebriated when I was leaving the 'after party' and some old blue hair offered me (dressed in Mizzou black and gold) some of her shrimp. It was awesome. You guys are seriously the greatest. The only thing wrong, though.....she didn't peel the friggin' shrimp. What's this world coming to?
  12. Random thoughts running through my mind as I sit here and flip back and forth between the Ol Miss - South Carolina game and a U2 concert on Palladia. Morgan Freeman in a commercial for VISA debit cards is fantastic. SUPER FREAK playing in the background and he says, "Let your freak flag fly....ahaaaa" I love it. Does Mark May get hazard pay for sitting that close to Lou Holtz on ESPN? No need for May to take a shower because he's getting spit on constantly during the telecast. I'm thinking the Cardinals and Yankees in the World Series in 2009. The most storied franchises in MLB history. If you see me driving around this weekend with my Tiger tail hanging from the rear of my vehicle, honk and wave. Hell...you can even flip me off if you want. Thanks for letting me be a part of your Huskerboard Thin crust, St. Louis style pizza with provel cheese is the shiz. ....more to come.
  13. Speaking of Missouri, I heard Gabbert called Chase to see if he would make the trip to Columbia on the 8th. He's anticipating a couple dozen snot bubbles and need someone to help clean 'em up....... While you're at it, ask Tom Osborne if he still has the locks of hair that Lawrence Phillips pulled out of that gal's head when he pulled her down the stairs. You probably need to go to KSUfans.com. They enjoy low brow insults tossed at each other and berating non-KSU fans. Sounds like you might enjoy it more over there. They have copious amounts of Husker envy as well. Hey CENTEX....your buddy is telling you to go to KSUFANS.com.

  15. Nevada (much like Illinois) was talked about during the pre-season. Neither look good now. I concur that this will open some more eyes across the nation. Gabbert on display and he tosses a few more touchdown passes. Mizzou 45-17. Thanks for allowing us a little space in your world. For the Mizzou fans here............ M I Z
  16. Welcome to the board and good luck with Med School. Say hi to my niece down there if you see her.
  17. Hard to be placed in the Top 10 in preseason polls coming off a 6-6 season.
  18. I almost thought that was a KU jersey for a second.
  19. Isn't this a violation of some type of code or something? A Husker fan betting on Mizzou?
  20. Mizz is picked to win by 7.5 over NV this week and the line wasn't listed for Nebraska the other day. Should NU roll like they are picked to (usually why there is no line) and MU wins by just over a TD, you might see NU picked by a couple pts to win the game in Mizzou based on the fact that they aren't getting much respect in Vegas this week. ScoresAndOdds.com have Mizzou as a current 7 point favorite. If you click on the FREE MATCHUP advice, they actually think Mizzou is the 16 point favorite green star lock. Nebraska is listed as a 27.5 point favorite
