  1. Hmm... I thought the logo was blue and white. Either way, I would mind Leaders and Legends less if they added the East / West tag to it. East Legends, West Leaders would at least be long enough that people would just call them East or West for short most of the time.
  2. 1. He'd better land a new job then. 2. Not happening 3. Hard to execute with shorter QBs. 4. So Helu and Burkhead sit in favor of Austin Jones? 5. Not until they get that five-yard slant "detailed." Martinez is 6'1". That is plenty tall enough to throw a dump pass to RB with good hands like Burkhead. Besides he should have enough speed to really draw the lineman back (it's not like he doesn't give up plenty of sacks by holding onto the ball too long). And why would Watson "better land a new job"? Because it would make some people feel better? Just because our defense and special teams have bailed us out of some games doesn't mean that the offense is progressing. If anything we got worse as the year went on. Obviously Tmart being hobbled was part of that (and having Lee be injured) but the fumbles, mental mistakes, and O line play have become systemic to the point where those coaches should be given their walking papers.
  3. Yea, but outside of us and Michigan who else does "legends" represent in that group? Could've been worse, but that doesn't make these a good idea.
  4. Agreed. I don't know if it's him physically though, as I kind of think it has more to do with his running style. He runs so upright and I rarely see him lower his pad level. I know some RBs do it to deliver a blow, but it also protects your lower extremities. Taylor seems worse than he should be on rollouts and better than he should be running between the hashes. Anyway I guess this doesn't add much. I just agree that even if he is healthy and gives us our best chance to win for the rest of his career, there are definitely going to be times when someone lays a hit and he has to come out or miss a game or two.
  5. I don't know if you really want to encourage that anymore than it is done already. Seriously though, that was one play call I didn't agree with on the Defensive side of the ball. I know there is more blame to go on the O (so a lot of people want to give the D a complete pass), but I believe that was a gamble that we lost. No guarantees it works if you go the other way and send some extra people, but I probably would have done it and felt comfortable if they ended up with the same yardage.
  6. Sounds good to me. Thanks for posting, I caught 1620 right after this played but never got to hear it. Gracias.
  7. My point is that # of wins does not = good coordinator. Only a momo would consider that I was asking if the 06 season was better than our current situation. So we should wait until we lose 7 games before we take action? Do you think that Callihan would have bought himself a few more years if he had hired a good defensive coordinator? Callihan's ship went down so hard because he didn't have a D to keep him in games. If Pelini had been their DC during those years (not saying that was workable, but a Pelini-esque defensive mind) I think we'd still have ol' Bill and would probably have put together some solid seasons. Waiting until the ship is sunk to plug a leak isn't smart. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong but if we lay an offensive egg against both Texas and OU during our last year in the B12 and then don't have a strong offensive performance in the whatever bowl we end up at... It'll be hard to say that we shouldn't at least look at what is available to upgrade the OC position.
  8. Maybe he is just talking Green vs Taylor when BOOM, Zac Lee shows up and is healthy and plays well. Or maybe my tinfoil hat is cutting off the circulation to my brain.
  9. We won 9 games in 2006. Was Kevin Cosgrove a good defensive coordinator?
  10. Do you mean the offense that put up 17 against South Dakota State or the offense that put up 13 against a 7 loss Texas team this year?
  11. I've been a fence sitter for awhile with Watson, but if we can't put one TD on the board I'll be in with the crowd calling for his head. I'd rather give some re-tread like Mangino a try than sit and keep banging our heads against the Watson wall of bipolar offense. Any team that has had the same coaches and has been in the same system for this long shouldn't be getting as many procedure penalties this late into the year. It's bad enough to have questionable passes called at bad times. How many times has a 3rd and short ended with a QB that can't throw real well going to a WR that can't catch real well? If we didn't have Alex Henry being darn near automatic the last four years, how many more games would we have lost with even an "above average" kicker? I hope he does well and the offense in the B12 championship game looks like the same offense from the Holiday bowl last year. But you have to be able to at least put one drive together for a TD in 60 minutes with how many opportunities our defense gives you.
