  1. I'm in the miltary my self. Football to me is an escape. It's also a connection to home. To go through the joys and upsets with all the husker Fans makes me feel like I'm there. Pluse It gives me identity among my peers. The huskers make me proud to be from Lincoln Nebraska.
  2. Yea start the rumor mill up. It's almost out of gas though.
  3. I agree with you that having a freshmen QB will limit your play calling. But its always nice to have a few plays in your back pocket. Also I think Rex burkhead can take any play you throw at him. Sweep, throw, catch hell probably even kick a field goal. But I my self am no expert at football. I was just pointing out what I have seen this season in terms of play calling. I don't think it takes a play calling guru to see that NU offensive plays got snuft out last Sat. OU made in game adjustments. Ofcourse new plays take pratice. I'm sure we'll see a lot new stuff next season.(I HOPE)
  4. When I posted change it up I didn't mean changing a few things on a zone read and saying its a different play. I'm talking about I formations. HB toss, screen pass, options etc. It just seems like the offense is too predictable. Defenses started catching onto the zone read after the Texas game. Being an adaptive offense can be an identity in its self.
  5. I think an extra guy in the back field would of help on some of those blitzes. I just have a flash back of Taylor handing of to burkhead and him getting stuffed right away without a chance. The thing that got me is we ran the same plays for the most part, all season. I also remembering I think Carl Palini saying something about the offenses he seen on film changed it up when they played NU Why don't we do the same? Change it up. Evolve to the season. I know easier said then done.(OFF SUBJECT How about Oklahoma's diamond formation they got going on. What do you think about it?)
  6. Man, some of you asserting these rumors sound like your on the team. I mean we are talking about RUMORS here right? If you got inside info post it. I would like to see some proof. Come on Palini's salt water aquarium guy. Let's see it
  7. Dude makes Spellcheck's head hurt. But he did make a somewhat valid point... I think... I posted it off my phone. No spell check sorry
  8. Ok so if the rumors are true then Bo Palini is a liar. You rumor mill fanatics are going to tell me Palini will LIE for a kid quiting Nebraska. For what. Palini in all his interviews. Handles inhouse situation like this. Reporter asks a question. Palini response " I not talking about that next question" if Martinez was quiting it would be handled the same way. Like when reporters ask him why he was yelling at Tmart." I'm not talking about that" I do how ever believe martinez might have text his dad probably to tell him he was OK. It look like a bad injurie at first glance. Now was martinez right for doing that. No. Rules are rules. I sure Palini handled that off field. So please put the rumors to rest. Post something with fact to back it up. Stop painting false picture
  9. I don't know about this one. Plenty of people have had killer games against crappy teams in their careers and they never turned into special players. Yea but they didn't play for Nebraska under coach Palini.
  10. Yea it probably wasn't the best play to call in that situation. But if it was a catch it would of went up there on the best husker plays of all time right next to "THE CATCH" & "THE FUMBLEROOSKI"
  11. Man that would awsome if we ran the gauntlet(next season) and came out undefeated. A guy can dream right. I bet the 95 huskers could do LOL
  12. I really think Tmagic is here to stay. Palini doesnt mess around with players who don't want to be on the team. I'm not buying the rumor kool aid that the media is dumping down everyone's mouth. Look at the FACTS. He played sat. Cody green was ready. Do you think Palini would play a guy who doesn't want to be there over a loyal guy who is game to go. Come on husker fans. Think.about it.
  13. If kid was on the way out I really don't see Bo sticking with him. If TM was on the way out I gotta think CG would've gotten in there. Agreed, Why would Bo start him in the biggest game of the year if he was on his way out? I think Bo would have benched him even if there was any doubt that he wants to leave. Then again crazier things have happened, just hope Taylor can grow as a person and a player next year and show us the magic he had during the beginning of the season and in the Okie Lite game. I think Bo sees something great in Martinez. I think he wanted Martinez to get experience. Win or lose he was thinking in the long run. He's preparing the kid for greatness. Sometimes a bad loss is what drives a player. Makes him stronger more determined. He is a freshmen. He has a few more years left with the Big Red. This might make him drive harder. To make him know that glory is earned not given.( ofcourse this is me just shooting in the dark on why palini kept him in the game) feel free shoot my theory down.
  14. The Nebraska cornhuskers football team lost. Not just the offense, Not just the defense, Not just special teams, or the quarterback or runningback etc. The (TEAM) made mistakes and got out played. I know its easy for us as fans to point a finger at someone or something. Not me. The Team as a whole lost. I look forward to next game and next season. Hopefully they take from this loss and season. To make the changes that are needed to win a National championship. To use this as a bump of motivation in the road to glory again. I keep my faith in the N on the side of there helmets. Win or lose I am a fan til I die.
  15. I think Cody's grandma would have stood a chance there on some of those sacks Taylor took. Slight exaggeration but I'd be surprised if Cody took sacks with all kinds of time like Taylor did. Then, maybe he throws some picks or fumbles so you never know. He had time on a few plays and made boneheaded plays by not throwing the ball away. But for the most part the o-line was getting torched all night. Let's be honest with ourselves here. Correction. The oline was getting torched EXCEPT when we ran the wildcat. Funny how a run blocking oline can succeed with a running game plan. So if enough heat is on watson does he take the vandy job? I wanted to see them in the "I" formation with Helu and Burhead behind Martinez. Hit em' quick or mis-direction. The zone read was taking way too long to develop with Martinez at less than 100%. The zone read was bad play calling. Why didn't we see one I formation. The zone read works with Martinez at a 100% because it gives him the option to throw or run. He couldn't run effectively. So what does Watson do insted of I formation. He replaces martinez with burkhead. Yes it work somewhat. But Rex isn't a QB. couldn't the I formation do the same but better. What happen to straight up smash mouth football. Rex and helu where fired up but they were not used right.
  16. ZONE READ + 10 = NE - 60. If a play doesnt work try another one. WATSON A kid playing NCAA 2010 on xbox could of called better plays.
  17. Why is every bashing on Martinez yes the kid made a few mistakes in this game. It goes with being a freshman quarterback under pressure. He wasnt getting the blocks, hes was 90% at the most coming into the game. But im not just talking about the bashing following this gamesI am talking about the negative comments before this game. Him being a prema donna, his dad callin all his shots, him screwin cheerleaders? IDK?, him quiting Nebraska, theBS rumors. STOP THIS CRAP.he is a player on our football team he deserves our respect as fans. I just cant believe that most of you that are calling for his head are the same fans who were braggin about him after the Kansas state game. Yes he threw an INT and fumble a few times. was he the only One? NO. If you want to blame someone. Blame Watson for calling that damn Zone read mutiple times causing a loss of yards on each time. Blame his crapy play calling. I predict Martinez is gonna be a great QB in the next couple years. But jeeze give the kid your suport. Also if you didnt think he cared after the game ended. watch the tape again you could see tears in his eyes. No one comes out of a game like that not caring. Scott Frost all over again. Hate him now You will love him later.
  18. Thank you. I agree with you 100% Oline looked horrible out shape. Maybe it was the play calling or maybe it was cause they suck.
  19. I would not say single handedly BW. The way the last drive was called was completely awful. Plenty of time on the clock to try to get 20-25 yards on the ground. And we send Taylor back to pass. Rex should have QBd that drive. Or Taylor should have just handed it off. Rest of the game aside, the way those two playcalls went were very costly IMO. You just made my point for me. We have to rely on a RB to play the QB position for us? I mean, Rex, as a far less superior athlete than Taylor, and the defense KNOWING that with almost certainty that it will be a run when he takes he snap, and he can pick up yardage consistently as a runner? Ask yourself this - why is Rex able to run the ZR so much better than Taylor? Taylor has no ability to feel a rush in the pocket. He has no ability or awareness to put the ball away. He has no ability to know when to get the ball out. He has no accuracy. He has no ability to pre-snap read the defense and get his line in proper alignment. You want some more blame to throw - put it on Bo for force feeding Taylor to his coaches, to his team, and to the fans knowing damm well Taylor is a horrid passer and was not completely healthy as a runner. You take Taylor out of this game, we win going away and there is not an ounce of 'Rex-cat' talk or anything else. The ONLY reason Watson is being brought up is because Taylor put this team in the position it ended up in through his constant horrid mistakes in this game. Its because Taylor wasnt 100%. Could Rex run it better than martinez at the beginning of the season? Did you see them put Rex in it at the beginning of the Season? Taylor was hurting they even mention that they had to add tape on his ankle at haft time. Watson shouldnt have built this offense around one player that is the problem. Taylor went down and so did the offense.
