  1. Dear Tommy Armstrong, I don't care if you think the all-white unis look cool and make you look fast. They are BAD LUCK. They need to rest in moth balls for eternity.
  2. Dirk gets labeled as a "douche" because he's not afraid to be critical of coaches. Dirk grew up in Nebraska going to games and watching championships. He has those expectations. If the coaches aren't meeting those expectations he will call them out. Yes, he can be very snarky, but I think he is a good writer. I am not Dirk, lol.
  3. When you can't argue against the premise, it's easier to deflect...+1 and...............408!!!
  4. Illinois is, at best, the worst team we've lost to since ISU 2009. Illinois is probably the worst team, but this wasn't the worst loss. Watching helplessly as Melvin Gordon sets the NCAA f'ing record for rushing yards was 10x worse. Watching unranked 7-5 Wisconsin boatrace 10-2 Nebraska for 70 points is 10x worse. Who cares... Arguing the semantics of which was worse is pointless. We still lost to a horrible team. But, but, that other loss was worse!!!! 408!!'
  5. Can we stop nitpicking an article or post and arguing over other stuff that isn't even the basis of the main article? Dirk's point is that Riley and Langsdorf lost this game for NU. Who really cares about comparing different losses in NU history.
  6. It's one thing to lose by being out schemed or efforted, but you can't lose by being stupid, which This loss was.
  7. Thanks. I didn't know much about him. Very cool stuff. I like how he focuses his run game on the I-back. I have always thought NU's best teams in the 80s and 90s leaned heavily on the I-back.
  8. Flexbone stuff, I formation, Shotgun, but the meat of his offense is based off option football. He's a better option than Paul Johnson because he stresses defenses with option ball from multiple formations. There is a reason he got rave reviews and was compared to TO in a Fox Sports article in July. I posted it on here a couple weeks back. Cool stuff. If you still have that article handy, can you post it again?
  9. Hey PowerT, I don't watch AFA as much as you do. Does Calhoun run a wing-bone, like DeBerry used to? Are all of his plays based off option concepts? Just curious since I don't know. Thanks in advance.
  10. Taking a knee would have been a better play call in that situation. Don't even give the QB the opportunity to throw the ball.
  11. Truth hurts. We messed up by playing around when we should have courted McElwain. However, I'll settle with any of the 3 guys I've mentioned twice tonight already. Justin Fuente, Troy Calhoun, or Tom Herman I would like Fuente or Herman if someone requires previous HC experience. Not sure about Calhoun, only because I wouldn't want to be an option-based offense. No matter what people say TO didn't run an option based offense. He ran a power running game offense and used options as part of his "passing game" to create big plays. TO has said that in interviews.
  12. I think Frost would bring a unique blend of spread concepts and power football. Something like TO was running with Frost back in '97.
  13. I'd be on board with Frost. I would rather have a head coach with no head coaching experience over one with 20 years of being a .500 coach.
  14. There have been worse, see Super Bowl last February. You sure love to bring up other people's failures when Riley and his staff don't perform. I don't care what Seattle did. Riley made a bonehead call and it sucked. Sucking is sucking. You said it was the worst decision ever, you are clearly wrong..It's the worst decision I have ever seen by a Husker football coach. Also, when up by 6, running the ball to take the clock to 20 seconds pretty much guarantees the game. Seattle had no guarantee of scoring from the 1 yard line last year, no matter what the play call.

  16. Banker's D is based on the offense screwing up. It's not good. I am not sure what Riley is doing out there other than making poor clock management decisions.
  17. There is no excusing the 3rd down call, but the way the team played, especially on offense was a complete joke.
  18. The play call cannot be defended. The coach can't put the player in position to make such a colossal mistake. Taking a knee would have been a better decision at that point in the game.
  19. Never mind the worst play call in my life, the game was poorly coached on the offensive end for the whole game. What a joke.
  20. As a coach you can't even tempt fate like that. Run the ball on 3rd down and the clock is down to no more than 20 seconds before 4th down.
  21. That was the worst call I have ever seen in 34 years of watching NU football.
  22. Hit the nail right on the head. What a joke.
  23. Dumbest coach in America. This can't last another season.
  24. Worst coaching decision I have ever seen. What an idiot.
