  1. Not sure if it's real or not, but if it is that would have also been a nice way to give Harvey the finger after he had lied to everyone about the AD search. My guess would be that TO was trying to keep another FS screw job from happening.
  2. Doesn't sound real good to see TA play much.
  3. I think you should get your information elsewhere. I think you should ask the regents who their getting mail about from boosters and the public asking them to have him leave or at least keep his nose out of athletics. It isn't Bo. Should be an interesting week next week.
  4. I agree. There are about 10 coaches I can think of that would have been 100 times worse at bending the officials ear.
  5. Tail gating will be weak with the early start, but there usually isn't a problem with it anywhere. Most of the good lots are sold out from last spring. If nothing else I'd plan on going down into the haymarket. There you can walk from place to place with beer in hand and its legal. But if you're in a lot drinking there isn't much of a issue as long as no one is being an A hole.
  6. Still not a valid excuse with this schedule as it falls on him to have adequate depth too. Yes. Every team in the country is expected to have the 3rd string perform as good as the first. Good point.
  7. Or perhaps Pelini and Eichorst do talk. Like Pelini has indicated. As I've said before, but not in this thread, it doesn't make sense for Eichorst to stay quiet and mum about his support for Pelini (if it exists) because of the impact it can have on recruiting and fan support. It is illogical and downright idiotic. The national perception of Nebraska's program right now is that Bo Pelini's job is insecure and Shawn Eichorst is looking at other options/evaluating Pelini's job. If that wasn't the case, Eichorst would say something. His silence is deliberate.
  8. So...if Accountability hasn't heard of it, it didn't happen. Got it Oh my. My point is, is if something like this was really a big deal, you think it wouldnt be new? In this state? With our obsession over anything husker football? Some guy posted a random rumor on facebook about Bo supposedly resigning and look how that blew up. If it was really as big an issue as Hedley tries to spin it as, then it wouldve been new. Probably national news. Bo berates little league official and no one runs with it. Yeah, whatever. Stop killing Urban legends.
  9. Understood, but that's kind of my point. If anyone should know better its the team, but he had to reassure them. I have to think that the AD not saying anything when national publications are questioning the HC job security does affect recruiting. I totally understand wanting to stay above the fray and not capitulate to the mob, but it seems even Bo is asking for a little clarity in the USA today article. The decision has to be made by now. Really I just want the talent we have to stay as well as some of these recruits. I'm normally a cynic, but I'm actually pretty pumped about the future of the program in the next two years if they don't tinker with it not only does eichorst not saying anything hurt recruiting, it sucks when a players parent posts on the Rss about how great the coaches are and that's why his son can't wait to be a husker and then some of our really great fans tell the dad it's in the best interest of that player to go elsewhere as long as Bo is here.
  10. If you believe the players I'd say 10-15 most likly.
  11. So bring n a guy with less experience to replace Els. Truth is if his name wasn't thrown out a few yers ago when he interviewed and didn't get the job no one would bring his name up. Only reason it was brought up then is because of his time hear as a GA. Wouldn't his hire be exactly like your bitching about Bo only hiring his buddies and people with little or no experience? Let's go find a new name to hire if you want a change. Maybe make a suggestion based on knowledge and actual research rather than the rss board recycled names. Whats Bill Busch doing? Or lets see Scott Frost was a on the defense once so let's get him.
  12. If reports this moring are correct I expect RK3 to start and probably play all game. TAs ankle is pretty sore. We'll see how much improvement is made by Tuesday.
  13. No more than Dirk or Lee think they are the leaders all knowing doomsday clan.
  14. We aren't allowed to point out doble standards to the husker haters.
  15. I would argue that we are pretty close to that. Most media picked us to finish second or third in our division. Yes I feel we should have done better this year but to not look at the landscape of college football as a whole is moronic. You need context to understand this sport.
  16. So you're saying the B1G said...we'll make you a full member starting the 2014 season...and Harvey said "no, go ahead and keep the tens of millions of dollars and wait until 2017, we don't need it." ? Huh? I'm saying the offer changed once "we needed a home". The tone and context of our previous agreement changed once Harvey painted a different picture to them after we had verbally agreed to one set of numbers it changed some. He's really good a running his mouth when it needs to shut up. Case in point the interview with the OWH after the ATM game where Bo when ape sh#t. He commented to the media before ever addressing it with TO and the coach which pretty much tainted Bo's image forever even though his sideline behavior has changed greatly. And lets not forget his quick public support of his old buddy Graham at PSU and telling the word what a great honorable guy that was even though all evidence was supporting the idea the guy had covered up to me the biggest most horrible crime in sports ever. I won't even touch deeply on the fact that he's lied several times yet none of that seems to be brought up in the media. Even in his search for Shawn he said several coaches, TO and other people would be consulted in the hire only for him to announce he found his guy and he never sought council with one single person he said he would. To me that shows his character more than anything. He's a snake and probably the sole reason we were also kicked out of the AAU because he damaged the relationships there to the point that even our B10 members didn't want us in. He really belongs working for the NCAA because they're full of his type.
  17. Agree. Moving to the B10 made it so buyouts are a blip anymore. Not that it matters because I believe the words were "I don't give a crap what boosters think" and that wasn't from our coach. Just know Harvey has demonstrated through his actions he's a one man wrecking crew. He hired the lasted AD without so much as a peep from anyone else. He also more or less brought Peady here the same way. His ego is quite large. And there is a reason the OWH isn't running the boosters are pissed stories dooming Bo after last week. Its because the majority (I can say I know of one mid level and one minor against Bo) are more in favor of his coaching than they are of Harvey. I know thats 100% my issue here. If it was anyone but that guy thrusting himself into the decision I'd be more open to the idea that we could possibly need change but that guy is a cluster f&^K when it comes to athletics. For someone who's profession is law he's managed to screw up not only the contracts of the last 2 coaches and ADs he also cost NU about 10 million dollars in exit fees to the B12 that were not on the table until he couldn't wait to tell the OWH about his secrete meetings and cloak and dager and how he was so awesome and got us into the B10. If he would have waited 10 days to talk about it we would have been better off. He also screwed our entry into the B10 by having us sit on reduced funds the period that we did. It should have been 1/2 as long at best since thats what they offered.
  18. No, I don't like losing. But it happens....to every team. And yes, some things need to be fixed. I've already said that. And no, I don't think getting rid of Bo is the answer. And all you have done since you've made your comeback this week is bitch about Bo. How can you deny that? Oh I obviously dislike Mr. Spaghetti on several different levels. Recruiting, Off the field antics regarding his temper, coaching, looking for other jobs etc etc etc. Why is it so terrible to voice my displeasure with Mr. Spaghetti when the program I love is being held back by him? He told you already what he thinks of all of us and it can only be said in the woodshed here. I am just looking forward to moving on from all of this after the Iowa game. Recruiting is so bad that we have a defense full of young kids that played every bit as good as the Michigan State defense did on Saturday. We also have a coach who is so unapproachable off the field that he let a little cancer patient who can never actually play football run a play in the spring game. There has been one job that Bo even considered. tOSU. Just wondering, with everybody being so sensitive an weird about racism, is the spaghetti comment aimed to be prejudicial to Pelini being Italian? This is false, he tried for the Miami and Arky gigs and they were not interested in him. Once he saw that he was stuck here, then he used leaving as a leverage to get undeserved raises. As much as you want to believe that he is loyal to Nebraska, that just isn't the truth. Because I know the folks involved in this I will state that he never "tried" for those jobs. Miami had an offer for him when they called him (not the other way around). Arky there was no interest on his end and I'm not sure there was much from there side either other than people reaching out to see if there was interest. There is a misconception he's out searching and that wasn't true although if I were him I would be sure to check around now.
  19. How have they under performed? Because the OWH said we should win 11 games this year and we havent? I'd say they've done much better than expected considering the things that have happened with injuries and running a very young defense. The same thing happened at UCLA three years ago and the lost enough games to fire a coach. The next guy came in and we've seen whats happened with healthy players and a few additions the last two years. Am I following this correctly? The narrative is Nebraska shouldn't fire their coach because of injuries and a young defense. They shouldn't be like UCLA, who had injuries and a young defense, and they fired their coach.......and now look at how good they are? No. I'm stating that the talent was there but hurt. It was a bad example. Even Ricky would have won the last two years base on the potential that was there. Why throw the baby out with the bathwater? Maybe Rick would have won but it's unknowable and contrary to his coaching history. I was looking at UCLA because they lost the starting QB right before season. Baylor the year that RG3 went down is another good example. Maybe more so as if memory serves me right they lost some of the Oline as well and were also a young talented team as demonstrated by the next years 10-3. Part of the reason we are so young is do to not getting the right guys. Carl took a few too many "diamonds". They were trying to figure out what type of guys we wanted and needed. Its also 50/50 on needing a different type of player from B12 to B10.
  20. I'm sorry but he is winning. It might not be the way you want but his win percentage indicates he's doing a lot better than about 108 or more other D1 programs over the last 6 years. Got this from another board and it is quite depressing: Since taking over in 2008, Bo has been the HC for 78 games with an overall record of 55-23. 18 of those games were against non BCS teams, and 10 of the wins have been against BCS teams with 4 or fewer wins. Looking into the wins and losses: Overall - 55-23 - 70.51% winning % - 18 Wins against non BCS teams BCS - 37-23 - 61.67% winning % Teams with 5+ more wins - 27-23 - 54% winning % - 1 loss to 5-7 UT Teams with 6+ more wins - 22-22 - 50% winning% - 1 loss to 6-7 NW Teams with 7+ more wins - 19-21 - 47.5% winning % - This is all teams that finished with a winning record, Bo is under .500 in these games Teams with 8+ more wins - 11-19 - 36.67% winning % - This includes Minnesota and UCLA from this season Teams with 9+ more wins - 5-16 - 23.81% winning % - This includes MSU from this season So Bo does win his 9/10 games a season, and wins 70.51% of his games, but he feasts on bad to horrible teams. He's 2 games under .500 against BCS teams that finished with a winning record. His teams don't get it done against good competition. Against teams that finish with 8 or more wins, teams that finished 8-4/8-5/8-6, Bo's teams win less than 37% of the games. He's played the schedule put in front of him. For giggles do that for the top 15 teams today over the past 6 years. I don't know the results but you're looking at something in a vacuum. I'd say Bama, Oregon and maybe LSU will be better.

  22. Tressel is a douche bag. If we hire him I will never root for Nebraska again. I will sell all of my stuff and never watch a husker football game again.

  24. Nope. I have a family friend who played for Bob D and got a car. But that wasn't against the rules back then. They were also looser when TO started and they pushed many grey areas. Billy C had Blake who nearly got us in trouble. Eckler almost got us in trouble too but they weren't to the degrees that is taking place where there is a total disregard for the rules.
