  1. We might want to focus on beating them without miracle plays first. Brilliant! Come to the alternate uniform thread and make a snarky comment about a game we won. Youre a stud! I just don't think we should be talking smack to a team that beat us two years ago, and came within a last second hail mary of beating us a second time in a row. Let's beat them the next 10 years, then we can claim NU all we want. It doesn't take brilliance to understand that concept. Yeah, we know. We don't want to hear about it in a thread about uniforms, bro. Then don't bring up the fact that we're the real NU, and we should show them that by having it on our helmets. That would make us look extremely ignorant.

  4. I still think something like this would be cool. Someone with much better photoshop skills than I should put a Johnny Rodgers style jersey on Abdullah.
  5. Probably 30%. Give up 2000-3000 seats....very rough estimate. First deck upper 1/3 rows will be a weather protection area (second deck umbrella) If they did this it would be to add more research space in South Stadium. If this concussion research takes off, and our football team steps it up a notch, I wouldn't be surprised to see something done to South Stadium in 5 years.
  6. We actually use a Slimline 3 LNB for standard definition, so we already have the equipment. I know that having the tripod level is key. We're over in Lot 12 and never have any problem getting the SD setup. I've just heard that getting HD is pretty time consuming.
  7. Do any of you guys use DirecTV for HD during tailgates? Been doind standard def for years, but want to upgrade. Any tips or pointers? TIA
  8. There's not really any room. I think he means literally move the field down, like dig a whole. A lot of stadiums are like that. He knew what he meant. Try to visualize it in your head and you'll understand why there isn't enough room. Damn it, I'm an idiot. I'll just sit out a couple plays.

  10. There's no Waffle House on road trips. Therefore the move to the B1G has been a failure.
  11. Only that we were the original school to adopt it as part of a pre-game sporting event ritual. Knute Rockne actually used it quite often.
  12. Does everyone still think that we invented that prayer? It was written by a poet in the 20's.
  13. Sower- Weird but different. I like for some reason. Oregon-like corn rows. Simply outlining the N in white makes it 100x better.
  14. I totally agree. I don't think people realize how high up those seats will be. It is going to be viciously cold in november if there is any type of wind. Plus, as anyone that went to the Washington game can attest to, the roof can hold in the sound make it crazy loud. The loudest game I've ever been to by far.
  15. Hoping that Bo swallows his pride and makes the changes necessary to turn it around, but I'm not holding my breath. My number one choice to bring back Husker football would be Steve Sarkisian. He understands recruiting and would bring the staff (including Tosh Lupoi) to draw players to Lincoln. Plus, he knows how to coach. He showed us that his teams get better over the season, something that Pelini teams rarely seem to do.
  16. I actually can't believe I am saying this, but Granite City has a totally kick ass blue-cheese burger.
  17. I don't want to throw anybody under the bus here, as I'm quite removed from the situation now. I will take a guess though. I interviewed for a job for the ad agency that does the tunnel walk about a year and a half ago. I had a job at the time, but was thinking about making a change. I interviewed at a place in Omaha and the ad agency that does the tunnel walk in Lincoln. They let me know that the person that normally handles the tunnel walk was on their way out, and they were looking for somebody to take it over. They offered me the job, and I declined for a few reasons. Took the job in Omaha, and now am running my own production company. As to why the quality of the graphics dropped, my guess would be that new team they have on the tunnel walk isn't as well versed in After Effects and Cinema 4D as the person that they had on the job before. Again, I am removed from the situation now, so this is all speculation. My criticism of the tunnel walk lies mostly within the planning and effort on the creative end. It's lazy and repetitive. I wouldn't want to be the person they look to, to create a new graphical look of the same idea every year. It's not why I turned down the job, I would have loved to push a more video/narrative based tunnel walk. Again I don't think having better graphics would make it any better. It's just the same thing in a different package that we have been getting for the last 5 years. Personally, I think the narrative aspect (showing players talking to the fans through the screen) takes away from the building of excitement/noise-which to me is the whole point of the tunnel walk. When players/coaches speak on the video everyone shuts up to hear them. That may also have something to do with the less than ideal sound system, but even with a state of the art system i still think everyone would get quiet, it is instinct to listen when people are talking to you. It seems hard to get that excitement back up after you have lost the crowd. 1. Play some Hans Zimmer or NIN type crescendo/climax building music. - Watch these without your heartbeat rising. - In fact, why don't we just hire Hans Zimmer or Trent Reznor to write us our own music. They're probably short on money and out of work by now...... 2. Pregame Speeches/Prayers NOTHING STAGED OR SCRIPTED(Unless they can hire Al Pacino) 3. Show some recognizable, tradition based sayings. 4. Clips of huge hits/cool plays from this years team with quick cuts to the next play. Pure action, we don't need to see entire plays. 5. Have that Hans Zimmer type crescendo music lead straight into the flashing red light/Sirius with just slight pause. - It gives time for one last huge crowd build up before the out of rhythm claps to Sirius start. (We have a crowd full of Navin R. Johnsons) - I'm telling you, the "In the Deed" video that epocSoN made completely nailed it. It completely set the tone for the crowd for the entire game. JMHO
  18. Please just re-use this template. Please and Thank You. It can be done.
  19. Crisis averted. Leon's carries it. Do yourself a favor and pick some up if you haven't tried it.
  20. I just hope that the east expansion doesn't ruin parking lot 12.
  21. Shot in the dark here, but I'm in a desperate need for this sauce for a party tomorrow (July 3rd. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is sold anywhere in Lincoln.
