I dont want my recruiting hopes to be busted down tommorow. I said I expect Peat to be in but wont be surprised if he is not. Heres to hoping he is N.

I have no doubt we will fill. One way or another. I expect Peat, Curry and Valentine to all be N. Moore I think stays home and Ford will go elsewhere, and Peat has yet to decide himself. He could go either way. I mean what would you do? Stay close to home and go to a top school, top program and beautiful campus with lots of Hot cali girls or follow your brother and cousin and play at Nebraska for an average education but great tradition. That would be hard decision for any kid. Hope he is N!

We are faced with replacing JP with a new Recruiting coordinator. I hope we change our approach drastically. Solich could not recruit and won 7,8,9 games a year. Got fired. Callahan could recruit very well and some of his players turned out very good but he could not coach and won 5 to 8 games a year....Barely. Fired. Pelini doesnt seem to be a great recruiter at all. Better than solich but only just. He wins 9-10 games a year. We need to get those extra 4-5 guys that are game changers in each class. Not struggle to fill a class with 17 recruits and have 5 of them be unrated diamond in the rough hopefuls. I hope the new RC figures out a way to go get top guys interested in Nebrasaka again so Pelini can do his thing.

I agree with Curry being N. Everyone else im not having too good a feeling on but i am sure we will atleast pick up one or two others besides Curry. Id predict Valentine and Peat. Peat is truly 50/50. He himself doesnt know what he is doing yet. Sadly Nebraska usually loses those battles.

Shelton will go to Washington, Ford will go to Utah, and Moore is leaning toward La tech from everything ive deduced. I think Curry is the only bet tommorow. Peat and Valentine have me only about 50% sure. I think we pick one of those guys up. I think we will only get 2 commits tommorow. I HOPE shelton makes 3.

I dont think ford is on the board anymore. Pretty sure he is gone. I will be very surprised if Moore doesnt go to LA tech.

There are some interesting things on Twitter lately with our remaining recruits. Not very promising things. I think wednesday is going to be very disappointing for husker fans. I think our staff needs a recruiting gut check. I think we need to change our strategy on it and be more aggressive. Not 1 guy committed on any official visit this yr. I'm hoping for the best wed but preparing for disappointment. Peat has to be N or it could get ugly.

Hasn't it been weeks since our coaches even spoke to him? I think the ship set sail back in december. I HOPE im wrong but I suspect we have about the same chance here as we do landing Eddie Goldman.

Sadly Nebraska is the one school out of the finalists that Peat lists that he is a lock to start as a freshman. Hes so N.

That was so 27 minutes ago....lol...sorry man had to say it. I think rose is the best recruit we have both as a player and as a recruit himself. And that statement I just made was so 200 days ago.

I think we have a shot if we dont fill on signing day. There is a strong possibility we will still be recruiting for 2012 when all the other teams are sitting back smoking cigars and looking at film of 2013 prospects. If we are fortunate...which during public announcements NU has never been real lucky, we get 4 of the six top guys we want. That leaves atleast one or two spots open for whoever we can fill with that is quality. Wed is going to be crazy.

I think there is good stuff in this thread. I think current coaches need a gut check. I think players need to hold each other accountable. I also think oline and dline need both talent infusions and coaching changes. Facts are that we have a legitimate proven defensive coach. If offense scores 30 points a game it gives us a solid shot. Problem has been offensive consistency.

I think the reason we are the best fans in college football is because we are passionate. Everyone likes to be a monday morning quarterback but its just hard because we as fans are not in the locker room and dont know all the facts. I respect everyone's opinion but I think sometimes we have to hit the personal reset button and realize that you can't go undefeated every year. I expect better than this season but can be realistic as to why it happened. I think things are going well and look forward to next season.

Not one sane person would have picked nu to win a national title. Most preseason picked us to go 8-?/9-?....so what's the fuss about? We have a young team and young staff and can't recruit sec top atheletes at every position every year. It took the great Tom osborne 20 years to get it just right to win. People need to settle down. Did I expect to win them all?....yep...will we win them all?...nope. Be patient and let coaches be coaches. It's obvious certain things need addressing but its not as doom and gloom as it seems. Firing all your coaches for going 9-4 is exactly what set nu back a decade. We don't have the ability to recruit and bounce right back from a program overhaul in a year or two. It is a 5-10 year upward battle to build a program back up. People forget nebraska is not a tourist destination. Kids don't come here easily. Can't wait for next year! GBR

I am not a Tmart basher...but facts are facts. Turner has to be able to throw a better pass than Tmart. He also is drastically better at being elusive instead of running straight ahead. He is almost as fast. So .....if turner learns the offense i say go with him. Best man wins....and don't count out brion. Tmart could still be great but i have seen him plateau out.

Gonna be extremely tough. Fsu is in state school and has zero cb commits with a soft verbal safety. They need this guy and will push hard. I'd say 10% chance here.

People here are amazing. There is not one reason to assume any game Nebraska ever plays is a guaranteed loss. No more so than saying a game is a guaranteed win. If we continue to play well and improve each week then we will be fine. Pelini is a good coach. We won't find anyone any better willing to come here. Relax and be a husker fan. As fans we all want and expect to win but let's face the truth. If you look at it realistically the team with the best offensive and defensive line usually wins. Our d line is not good. They are beaten...battered...bruised and even before a rash of injuries not great. Our oline is makeshift at best. Made of freshman, sophomores and walkons. If I were an analyst I'm going gamecocks.

If stoops has a contract in place one would think he would sign it unless he's getting better offers or still deciding between jobs choices. Is that what is being implied here?

It is a disadvantage to not have c. Pelini recruiting for us. One would think we would make a hire soon who can start talking to kids. My guess is that the choice of pelini is either internal in which case we would be hearing about the promoted intern visiting recruits, or the chosen coach is still coaching for a team. Only other possibility is that they need multiple coaches because of additional departures and pelini is wanting to announce all of them at once and we are still finalizing who and how much pay and contracts etc. In that case some coaches possibly leaving for fau or other opportunities may still be employed with nu so technically there are no openings yet* so you can't announce who is coming in.
