  1. So my original punctuation was crap. My assesment was spot on. We are a mediocre team. We are so poorly coached in fact, I think pelini almost fired himself today. I like bo but damn son, you hired a bunch of high school assistants and look at your product on the field.
  2. Oh well it doesn't matter as its a web forum.... Most people on this board probably didn't attend the game, left early, turned off the tv in the third quarter, or flat didn't watch at all. I can't wait to see us play next week but it absolutely pains me to see so many fundamental mistakes on the field and a stadium a third empty. Just hope bo does what's necassary soon. Ask wisconsin how that new oline coach midseason is worked out.....
  3. I thought we did make a jump. I am excited about some things. That said, am I the only one who sees how far behind our players are on the field? Maybe ill eat crow but I see a poorly coached team, a half disinterested stadium fan base and mediocre product on defense. I think sweeping change has to happen soon or the sellout streak is history. I think we have the players and some good coaches but on defense we are a joke.
  4. Most of bo's fustrations had to be the substitution and alignment issues. I doubt he fired pap on the spot. Personally I thought it was hilarious to see a graduate assistant turned dc getting beat down by his boss. Bo got just what he hired...a work in progress...lol.
  5. I absolutely bleed Husker red. I'm really glad that we won the game today because I thought we could have possibly lost today's game. Congratulations to Ameer Abdula, kenny Bell, Tommy Armstrong and all the players that played their hearts out today. I absolutely love watching the Huskers play, it pains me to miss even one play even during blowouts. But over the last several games even several years I see an alarming trend. Attendance at the games are down, people are leaving earlier than they usually would. There seems to be a lack of focus a lack of intensity and a lack of overall excitement amongst both players and fans. It starts with the head coach. We have to face reality. We are a poorly coached team. I like bo Pelini however he has surrounded himself with inferior experience and it shows on the field. It translates to the product it translates to the fans it translates all the way to the empty seats in the student section and kids being non existent in a big game. I watch a lot of college football, teams play and they are aligned, they are smart, special teams are successful and players are focused....we are not. We can't get players substituted, we can't get players aligned we can't seem to focus we can't seem to tackle our special teams are spotty at best compared to other teams we are lacking big time. It is time for change not necessarily the head coach but if there is not sweeping change soon people are going to stop coming to games because the product that you see on Saturdays is a direct result of poor coaching. I really hate to say this but it is the absolute truth. I certainly hope that coach Bo makes the right choices and makes them soon because we need change now. we are completely irrelevant, we get no TV exposure we get no recruiting visits on game days and we seem to just be this team on some kind of cruise control at a mediocre pace. Something has to change soon to bring new excitement to the table
  6. If we r gonna fire anyone ...we better have our ducks in a row and know who is gonna take over. I'd go after tressel first. But I'd do it now with feelers to see who hypothetically is interested unless you want another embarassing peterson like debacle.
  7. I want to see total domination with half of the defense ejected after the first series for decapitations of so miss players. However i won't be surprised when so miss gashes us up the middle while we seeminly take a poop on the new red N out there. I now hold all predictions and judgment until I see us play. Plus its so miss.....the same team that has lost 1,246 games straight. Holding them to 90 yards and winning 70-3 isnt impossible. Highly unlikely however with our history. We crap down our legs way too often under this staff to not enter the game with depends on. Here's hoping for the best.
  8. Coaches are confused or searching for answers on the sidelines. Jp looks confused. Three teams in a row have now gained 600 yards and players and coaches say its fixable. I think a solid d coordinator would have fixed it by now. Should go look for a bigtime proven coordinator. I think final judgment will come when ucla puts up 700 yards. Three teams have exposed the same weaknesses in our scheme. Its not rocket science. They have exploited how we react to motion on the line and how we close or try to shift our gap hold assignments and it puts us out of position on the line with no linebacker to make the tackle. Southern miss will try to do the same thing. If southern miss can gash us just wait for ucla. I hope we actually make some adjustments and quit trying to plug a round hole with square pegs. We can't afford another complete coaching overhaul and how much it would set the program back. Hiring a proven d coordinator would be a start.
  9. What I learned is that we don't have the recuited talent in the trenches that is necessary to play with the big boys. Football is simple. Dominate the trenches and the rest will come to you. Both offensively and especially defensively we don't have the horses. When you look at the ap top 10 and compare to rivals top ten recruiting rankings, minus a couple outliers it pretty much is team for team. Until we as a staff start taking recruiting to a new level and getting top talent lineman ....this will continue.
  10. I personally think we have not under developed our talent. I think we simply are not recruiting enough talent. We simply don't have the physically athletes other teams have. Key defensive positions are loaded with project guys compared to the big dogs of college football. If recruiting doesnt improve dramatically we will be average at best. I am anxious to see what happens on defense this yr. I hope for the best but expect nothing fantastic.
  11. Now that this 3 yrs thing is public I hope everyone and their dog doesn't come after him.
  12. Does not one person out there understand comedic metaphor?
  13. I think we will be ok. It's just status quo. Not bad, not great. I think with great recruiting comes great excitement and great seasons. With not great recruiting comes what we see now on Saturday. Not great, not terrible.
  14. Just told a friend that I loathe recruiting at nebraska this time of year. It is like when your starving and you go to the kitchen looking for something, anything to eat. Hoping for even a can of beans or creamed corn all you find a some moldy bread. In desperation you scrape off the mold and decide to eat it but think maybe some butter would be best. You grab the butter and see its almost gone and have to really dig deep for enough. When you spread it however its cold and stiff and the bread is dry and stale and it crumbles and slips through your fingers to the floor. Before you can register what just happened your dog snarfs it up in one swift gulp without even tasting it. Now you have to decide, do I just go hungry or go outside and see if there is even a bit of vegetation you can turn into a salad with some creative cooking. Ugh.
  15. I wish the finish was more impressive. Let's hope for the best
  16. He would probably play right away. I'm not sure we can afford to redshirt anyone at dt next yr. I'd go after him with everything we have.
  17. I think most people on internet boards have to be die hard fans and therefore see things from that perspective. I just hope that these 18 yr old kids realize that by coming to nu they are immediately elevated to rock star status and will start early if they are hard working studs. If they go somewhere else it is gonna be five deep roster with 5* talent. I don't get it. It seems a no brained to me.
  18. If you look at the ap top 10 and compare that to the recruiting rankings by most sites they are very similar. There are some anomalies but mostly its accurate. Until Nebraska has top 10-15 classes we will always be hovering about 20-25 in the final rankings. It's a fact. Hope we finish strong but It doesnt look good as most big name guys are going everywhere but nebraska. Board is clearing off quick.
  19. So I dont know much about transfer rules...since he was required to sit out one year, and assuming he already redshirted once and has been in college ball 3 years is he a 2 year guy?
  20. When a team runs the same play out of four different sets and averages 10.8 yards per carry and you cannot stop it, that is not simply fixed by putting a faster or younger or different guy in the game. It is fixed by adjusting your defensive look to take that play away. Every time we did exactly that they shifted to inside running game and completely man handled our dline. Part of it was we were completely unprepared coaching wise and the orther part of it is that we lack both the athletes and the Passion that husker players of old played with. There are 50 things wrong and to fix them all will require better more experienced coaches, better more experienced recruiters, and better more developed athletes. Once if ever that happens then slowly over a season or two a team will build a mean nasty we can't be beat attitude. Until that happens I would expect much the same problems we have seen over the last 5 seasons.
  21. Or maybe he knows to compete in the $EC and keep his job he has to sign 40 guys and weed out the excess baggage that isnt devoloping or contributing. Sad what is happening down south. The playing field needs to be leveled.
  22. My two cents: coaches brown, fisher, Joseph and beck can stay. Cotton, els, Kaz, jp, dobson and garrison need evaluation. I'm not an expert and not saying everyone mentioned be fired but it appears Bo is so busy coaching the coaches that we don't scheme and game plan or shake things up. Never any thinking outside the box. Nothing new, innovative, imaginative, ....nothing. we always fall flat when playing average teams with good coaches. Under experienced coaches make for teams that look like Nebraska. It's time for a shake up and time to open the check book and hire some experience.
  23. Looking to see what sections people are getting from athletic office.
  24. One thing is certain, I'm not lying when I say that beau sandland will start next year at te if he commits cause we dont have anyone of his talent ready in the trenches.
