Some are saying Witt will be #2 by mid season. I personaly think he should just Redshirt. Why waste a year for half a season of mopup duty? He can compete for the starting spot next year and if he gets it will probably end up a 4 year starter.

The odds makers don't care who is going to win or by how many points. They set the lines to try and get a 50/50 split in Dollors bet. This guarantees the house wins. This is why lines change constantly all the way up to kickoff. They adjust the lines when a team is getting more money put on them than the other. By doing this it switches the action to the other Team. Don't take point spreads as a prediction of the out come of the game. Point spreads are predictions of how people will bet with that spread.

Osbourn always had 1 solid Team on the OOC schedule. Their Schedule OOC was simular to many others around the country. Usualy 2 weaker Teams and 1 solid Team. The main reason for this is Solid programs want 2 year home/away deals. The top tier programs want to get home games period. So they will make a Home/Away deal with a solid Team than have to weaker program for home game. It is pure Business.

Maryland - 20 minutes Navy - 45 minutes West Virginia - 2+ hours

When they start winning Big games, Big 12 Championships and scoring in big numbers. Than and only than will you hear Nebraska comes in with their explosive west coast offense. Until than it will be about the past because our past wasn't 9-5 seasons.

What in the name of Tim Duncan?!?!?!?Are you serious??? I'd say the very least amount of ROAD night games is a very good thing. The last thing you'd want in your second game of the year is have it at night. Especially at a place that's not use to big games, wants desperatly to be rowdy and is just begging to carry some goal post out of there stadium....... Wake won't tear down the goal post if they beat Nebraska. Huskers aren't that big a deal anymore unfortunately.

I'm 43. Winning the North is easier than winning the Big 8. To win the Big 8 you had to beat Oklahoma and Colorado. No Team in the north is as tough as those Teams were. The Big 12 schedule now is no realy that much tougher. The only perenial power house on the Schedule is Texas or Oklahoma and they only have to play one of them in the regular season. You also need to look at who Osbourn losses came against. He usualy lost to the National Champions and or Oklahoma. Fact is the standards have dropped because of what happened the first year with Callahan. It's easy to be happy playing in a Bowl against a well known Team. Callahan couldn't hold Osbourns clip board. Who has Callahan beat? I hope Callahan continues to improve and gets back in the national picture as much as anyone. But until he does it, I'm not going to put him on a pedestal or even mention him in the sentance as a Osbourn. There are only a hand full of Coaches in College fottball history that stack up to Osbourn.

How old are you? Do you realy think the program is in better shape than when Osbourn was here? A down year for Osbourn was better than Callahans best year yet. Osbourn was ranked every year in the Top 10. Callahan has had one Team ranked in the Top 25.

Just curious how many of Solich players remain. I think Callahan is improving the Team from what he did his first year but how long can people make the Solich excuse? There can't be many left. Solich was getting blown out by better Teams but always won against the Teams they were suppose to beat. Callahan has been able to hang with some of the better teams but has also drop some games to less talented teams. So is this the year to put up or shut up or is he still a year or 2 away?

I agree. Everyone says that Castille will play right away, but there is too much to the offense besides runnig the ball. Mendoza will get the nod before anyone else because of the expierence he picked up in the fall. D-1 ball is just that much faster than the top highschool league, but the expierence to the younger guys will be huge this year. Running Back is the easiest position to learn in any offense. Blocking assignments will be the hardest part.

Police reports generally support whatever action the cops choose to take. For example, there could have been a dozen witnesses there that saw the bouncer take aggressive action against Purify but sense the bouncer wasn't arrested the cops would never put the other witnesses in the report. Fine and probation, plus one missed game. Purify will be back for WF. The guy didn't strike Mo. He tried unsuccessfully to get Mo off of him. Mo was on top of this guy and choking him when the girl intervened and he then struck her. Thats why he wasn't arrested. He was attacked and never hit Mo according to witnesses which police put in the report. The police did take witness information. Now had Mo left after they kicked him out of the bar after the fight... we might not of heard anything about this. But nooooo he hangs aroung trying to get back in, once trying to scale the beer garden fence (there's your tresspassing charge) so the bar calls the police in. Takes 4 cops to handcuff him. Sounds like more than a 1 game suspension to me. He did more than LP did and LP missed most of the season. Lets see... legally drunk. Disburbing the peace (dunno if he was charged this but he cussed out anyone and everyone around that night), assaults not 1 but 2 ppl, refuses to leave, resists arrest. LP just pushed his ex against wall and dragged her down the stairs by her hair. He might have a couple witnesses in his corner but versus how many for the county including police? This isn't like he threw a plastic cup this time... He didn't do more than LP did. LP Broke in to an ex GF appt and beat her than sent her down a flight of steps. Lets not get crazy here. Huh? LP didn't strike her. He had her up against the wall with a choke hold and then drug her down some stairs by her hair. Even Scott Frost reported he didn't strike her. Lets see. Mo gets sloppy drunk, assaults not one but 2 ppl. Refuses to leave after they toss him from the joint, tries to get back in and fight some more when he could of left (at least LP was smart enough to leave)and then resists arrest once the police arrives. I wouldn't say it was the No.1 vs Scrubs. When you are good enough to ride the bench at a D-I School, more less make the 2 deep chart, than maybe you can start calling them scrubs as you will be one of them.

Not sure who you were watching but Witt looked good. He was behind a weak O-Line and facing the #1 Defense. He had a lot drop balls. He did much better than his stats. He will redshirt and be a serious threat in 3 years.

several reason you are off. Most H.S. players need 2 to 3 years before being able to be productive. Many JUCO players need a year so they might redshirt and still have 2 remaining. Maybe they are behind a stud and need to wait a year to step in to the spot. Another reason is to build depth. A juco might be able to step in for a injured player or just give depth in the rotation.

Have to believe it is one of the 2, if not both. I have read many a rumor that said that there was an agreement between Solich and Osborne that he would take over. Rumors are not good for much until there is some juice put behind them. you're probably right. it probably was a promise to both of them. He said he almost took the Michigan State job after he left Nebraska. But his Grand Children talked him out of it.

Replace Taylor with Turner Gill. That puts you 3 deep at QB with Game Breakers.

I think they will be improved but have a simular record as this year because of the strength of schedule. The addition of Wake Forest realy makes this a tough Schedule.

I'm not saying fire callahan or bring Solich back. But the Solich excuse is just that an excuse and nothing more.

I'm not calling for Callahans head but anyone who realy thinks the fake punt was a good call doesn't know football. The situation and field position wasn't right for that kind of call.

I'm not ready to say we have Osbourn type talent yet. Callahan has recruited better than Osbourn on Paper but Osbourn and his staff developed talent better than anyone in the country. When we get to the point where Stand out Blue Chippers are having to red shirt and sit a few years before seeing the field, that is when we have Osbourn type talent.
