gin_32
Preseaon Rank..... I have read all of you Out of state Husker Fans and recorded as best as I could to rank the Best Out of State fans that replied to my original post. And here it is..... #1 Colorado #2 Texas And Minnesota #3 Iowa, Californa, Missouri, Arizona #4 Maryland #5 Illinoise Other Receiving votes: Utah, Oregon, Kansas, Florida, Ohio and Canada You have to state where you are from to make it easier for me to tally the votes, but give me the respect if you have already told me. That way I don't mark you down twice or 3 times.... Quote Link to comment
ohiohusker
Went to Pittsburgh to the Pirates game last weekend and wore my new T-shirt. Got lots of comments, and mostly good ones! One of the best experiences I've ever had at an away game was at Heinz Field 3 years ago. We even had a room at "Panther HQ" across the river from the stadium. Filled the hotel bar with red Friday night, and were welcomed by the staff and Pitt fans alike. We had done the season tix purchase again (like Wake this year), and were right in the middle of the alum. Good folks, cheering their team as hard as we were ours, especially during the 4th quarter comeback that made the game close in the end. Hands shook and backs were patted at the end, and that continued during our walk back to the hotel. Hope Stevie P. sees fit to schedule them again.... We were at that game too. Up in the nosebleed section, although we could have sat anywhere we wanted. I think there were more Husker fans than Pitt fans. On the way to the game we got yelled at...."Hey you bunch of farmers", "Where's your overalls"?, etc, etc. Guess we showed them. That was the year they flooded and the docks and boats were floating down the river. We high-tailed it out of town! Quote Link to comment
prallem
I'm a transplanted Big Red fan who lives south of Philadelphia and we have a fair amount of Big Red fans around here. The Pa fo Nebraska booster club meets for every game, around 40- 60 average attendance. Can't wait for tomorrow, always nervous waiting for that first game of the year kickoff. Nothing like a Saturday afternoon of Big Red football, red beers, and wings. Life is good! GO HUSKERS! Quote Link to comment

HUSKER 37
Born and raised in S.Central Nebraska..Now Living in AZ if you can't tell from my thing on the left side of my posts...since 1990 UNL alum. Walked on for ~45min. Cousin (and HS teammate) started at SE for the Huskers for 3 1/2 seasons during the "Scoring Explosion" years. Nephew (from Mesa, AZ) attended 4 Husker Summer camps during the Solich years and my Brother still has his Son's "GO HUSKERS!!!" yell at the end of their ans. machine message. My Brother moved out here after graduating UNL in '75 or '76 which seemed to coincide with us playing ASU in the Fiesta Bowl (14-17) allowing Frank Kush to claim part of the MNC..Which seemed to be the cause of so many Nebraska transplants once we were exposed to sunny skies and 75 deg. days in December. I make it a point to wear Husker stuff whenever I go on vacation (CA, CO, OH, TX) or to the store, here, but I only ever got approached by fellow Huskers here. I've been to at least 3 "Husker Bars" in the Phoenix area, but I don't remember ever being in a sports bar out here that didn't have a giant red flag with our "N" (for knowledge) in it. And You can almost always see 3 or 4 in several neighborhoods on "Football Saturdays" out here. There's even a Husker Store out here where the owner only closes on Home Game Saturdays so she can fly back for the game "And get more stuff"...(Although I've heard rumor there's another store out here..Probably just someone saw my Garage). I'm still amazed at how many people I've met out here from Holdrege (My hometown). 5 former classmates (Class size of 110) Plus my Brother and his wife and 2 of her brothers. plus ~8 sets of parents of former classmates. I even once had someone move in down the street from me that was from Holdrege and "sorta" knew my parents. Last week I met someone a couple blocks away with "Ak Sar Ben Construction" on the side of their pickup. (Moved here from Omaha). “The other bowl places are great,” said University of Nebraska director of ticket operations John Anderson. “But there is a following here, the weather is gorgeous and the hospitality is second to none.” Nebraska has played in the Fiesta Bowl a record six times. Buckeye37 (my Wife) and I bought her a Jeep tonight and the Loan Specialist happened to be from Ogallalla (SWConference rival) and worked at the same Dealership my Mom worked at in Holdrege when he 1st started out. Lately with all the OSU appearances in the Fiesta Bowl. It seems like we're getting a little outnumbered by Ohio State Retirees who have a couple bars of their own, but we still have over 1000 AZ4NE members who make sure at least One (sometimes two) radio Stations carry each Husker game and the Coaches' show afterwards. Nate
I would say Oklahoma, but we are a pretty rare breed around here, it makes me sad. Quote Link to comment
alairguard
I've been reading articles and messages from AZ, CA, Minnesota and even from the state of Maine that they are Husker Fans. Even Colorado has it's fair share of Huskers Fans. I know there are Georgians for Nebraska. I guess what I'm asking from you fans, that live outside of Nebraska, who do you believe is the biggest fan base of Husker football? With Nevada coming to Lincoln, and since that this week is sincerely going slowering than usual, I think it's a good way to past time. Just Say where you are from and when you first became a husker fan...... My house, in what ever state I"m living in at the time!!!!! I'm so loud myself the wife has to leave until I call and tell her it is safe to come home!! Quote Link to comment
Trendon
I am unsure how well others party, but the Nebraska Society of New York has done a fantastic job of providing fun (in large numbers) for the dozen or so games I've taken to heading down to Manhattan for. Quote Link to comment
schuskerjulie
I was born and raised in Omaha, where my family still lives. I graduated from Westside High and then UNL. I now live with my family in Aiken, South Carolina, and my Husker flag hangs proudly on my mailbox! Believe me, there are very few Husker fans living down here in ACC and SEC territory!
