808Husker in KCMO
I caught a glimpse of the WVU game last night an I now have an opinion on the spread offense. Quite simply, Its gay. Not football at all. Its like a game of smear the queer or something. Makes me sick. f#*k. Quote Link to comment
DJR313
What I don't like is the teams that line up and then look for the coach to call the play based upon the defense. I don't think that should be allowed, IMO. Quote Link to comment
papersun87
If I were a defensive coordinator, I would absolutely hate to defend against it. That said, I DO like to watch it. 808, why do you hate it so much? It's really not that different from the option, just faster and with more "options." Quote Link to comment
808Husker in KCMO
Football is a team sport. I believe in an offense that works together to achieve its goals. WVU's brand of spread offense is a game of keep-away. A series of one on one plays where there is little to execute and little team involvement. Quote Link to comment
papersun87
They DO treat it a little bit like rugby in a way . . . although I DO like how they get their receivers in on the running game sometimes. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
it features athletes and individual skills more so than anything else we have seen........if it works, play it, coach it and call it! Quote Link to comment

huskerdude171
It's better than the West Coast Offense. End of discussion. Quote Link to comment
pctopeka
I agree with the author. It is prissy. Relies on timing and finess, disrupt those and it suffers. That is what Oklahoma did. Once these ladies started getting knocked around, they got all pissy. Quote Link to comment
