  1. It's going to be between us and Oklahoma, I think. We are squaring off against them a lot this year for kids. A win in Lincoln would be fantastic.
  2. Aaron Green is a sophomore right now. He won't be deciding where he's going to college for another 2 years. That being said, I think our chances are better than they usually are.
  3. What are the implications for the university if the NCAA gets involved?
  4. Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. I really enjoyed his presence on these boards. Willie, hope you get well soon bro.
  5. I still think Marve would be a good idea, but only if we don't get a commitment from a HS QB (Gabbert?). I'm not sure what to think about Paulus, frankly.
  6. DB will always be a focus since our base defense is essentially nickle right now. I can see us taking 3 DBs every year.
  7. He didn't really run a 4.5. If you look at his Scout.com profile, he ran a 4.69 at their combine. That's still really quick for a high schooler.
  8. This guy has the most amazing film I've seen in a while. People that big shouldn't be able to move like that. Unfortunately, he's no longer going to attend the spring game.
  9. FYI - Marve will be coming to the Spring Game as an Official visitor. Nebraska is serious about recruiting him.
  10. I would venture to guess that Robert Griffin is one of the top ten fastest people in college football.
  11. He'd have to sit out a year, so he couldn't play.
  12. QFT. Can't understand why people wouldn't want him.
  13. That's pretty interesting. As noted by posters above, the chances of the games being played in NE are pretty small. I'm a huge soccer fan, so I'm really hoping we can win the 2018 WC. I've requested FIFA lottery tickets for the 2010 WC in South Africa - if I get them I'm definitely going.
  14. 40 times are so arbitrary, there is no point in debating them.
  15. Depends on when/where they time it. I know that at one point, all the high schoolers that attended Nebraska's summer camps were timed using electronic timing systems.
  16. I'll go out on a limb and say that if Jeff Luc decides to come to Nebraska, it would be one of the greatest recruiting victories for Nebraska in the last 15 years, possibly ever. That being said, I am not getting my hopes up at all with that offer list.
  17. X - any chance you could provide the source for your information? Discussion on Luc can be continued here: http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=33199
  18. Player: Jeff Luc Hometown: Port St. Lucie, FL Position: LB Height: 6'1" Weight: 230 lbs. 40 time: N/A Visit Date: TBD Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami (FL), Ole Miss, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, USC, Southern Miss, UCF Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Scout: #1 MLB ESPN Grade: N/A Assessing the talent: "Luc may be the most physically, superior linebacker in this class, hands down. Has prototypical size with his compact, thickly-built body and possesses very little body fat on his bulky 241-pound frame. Has longer, stronger arms to keep blockers off his body. Plays the game extremely tough, aggressive and physical. Consistently is around the football making plays even in pass coverage. His strength lies at the point of attack where he shows great short-area power and explosiveness. One of the better downhill fillers we have seen in recent years. Rarely turned out of the hole. Needs to polish up hand technique but scrapes well over trash when pursuing off-tackle and stays square eliminating cutback creases. Not real fast-twitched but quick enough to beat blockers to the hole and has adequate-to-good lateral agility and mobility sifting through the wash. Effective blitzer with his good timing and ability to generate great power and velocity quickly in the short-area. He may lack great speed on paper but has good football range for a stout inside run stopper and flashes equally impressive sideline-to-sideline chase speed. Can lumber a bit but closes hard, fast and with a nasty attitude. Textbook tackler who drives his hips through ball carriers with great force; rarely ever any second efforts by backs. Our main concern is his lack of great hip-fluidity and sharp change-of-direction skill; these weaker areas are often masked by his great intensity and direct pursuit angles to the ball. May have a bit of trouble slipping the faster cutoff block at the next level and mirroring quicker backs on inside zone schemes if employed strictly in the middle. Lacks great reactive athleticism and could get caught up in the fast moving traffic. That said, it's hard to find many physical flaws in Luc's game filling downhill and he will surprise you with his deceptive athleticism, particularly in space; could play the strong side in certain schemes. Upside may be limited but Luc is ready to make the college jump right now and should see early playing time." - from ESPN Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 2%. Holds roughly 40 scholarship offers, but apparently he wants to visit.
  19. I think this guy is one of the best players in the country.
  20. I don't think anyone can ever say a Texas squad from the last decade has had "above-average-at-best athletes". Their teams consistently have some of the best players in the country. Why does no one seem remember that the team Vince Young "carried" had Limas Sweed, Justin Blalock, Brian Robison, David Thomas, Cedric Griffin, Tarell Brown, Selvin Young, Aaron Ross, Michael Huff, Michael Griffin, and Ahmad Hall on it's roster? 2005 Texas Roster If that's "above-average-at-best athletes", then I want Nebraska to have "above-average-at-best athletes" in every recruiting class.
  21. yeah, except for the skull and bones crushing the opposing teams logo.... thats gotta stay. Yeah. My statement was directed more towards the likes of Sam Keller and Co. stepping through the red waterfall after jumping out of a plane. (I also like the animation of the skulls in husker helmets marching in formation to the Imperial March song from Star Wars.) I love it when the Imperial March is played at sporting events. Wish our band would rock that this season.
  22. Joe Walker did a great job at KR/PR.
