admo Posted November 21, 2007 Share Posted November 21, 2007 I hate to say it, not really, but I have a strong feeling that Pelini is going to be stuck on an island and passed over at both NU & LSU. I think it will come down to the obvious: Why have so many teams passed over this guy? I think that's what will bite him. The thought will linger. In fact, I think Pelini will finally see the light bulb after all this and do what Gill did (who wanted to be a HC): Go start your head coaching career at a small school, or a place that is usually hovering around .500, learn on the job, and about managing everything (players, coaches, AD, recruits, boosters, alumni, fans). A&M wont chance it, and maybe Arkansas might. But they want an Arkansas guy. As far as the rumor, makes obvious sense that TO prolly discussed with Solich on some stuff, including Pelini. huskerswrkhavoc Posted November 22, 2007 Author Share Posted November 22, 2007 all i know is i deeply trust the person that told me this, and they are very close to me *coughcoughcough* had told me multiple times he didn't think pelini would be a good fit for the job, because of the way he handled the players at the bowl game that he did coach in.. how he allowed them to basically do what they wanted as long as they showed up on time and performed. So, your Doctor (Turn & cough) thinks Bo should have treated the 18 - 23 year old players like 1st graders on a field trip and that's why he thinks that Bo shouldn't be coach? What does your Doctor want from a coach, aside from being on time and performing? Wierd! yes, of course, my doctor.. do you have any idea what happened when pelini was coach? players were allowed to go out and stay out to their will.. girls were in the room until 3 in the morning.. would you REALLY want that as a fan? as a "higher-up"? no, you wouldnt.. like i said, i dont care if people rip it apart, but DONT be a smartass thinking you know exactly what is going on.. after all these kids ARE students first.. still students.. especially with a bowl game and during season they need to have curfew along with other rules.. and how consistent are players out getting drunk until 3 in the morning going to perform? sure they may do well against a cupcake.. but lets go to OU and play after that.. not gonna happen.. The only person that might have any idea what he is thinking is his wife... and if you read around, i have given reasons more than once as to why sources names aren't listed.. in all honesty, what person do you think can give information, and allow themselves to be named? if they are, they are putting themselves and their families at risk with their job.. yet again, i'm not saying in anyway that TO has been in contact with BP or anything of that sort, just that TO has talked with FS about his feelings about BP, after all, FS WAS the one that brought him here and had him on his staff, and obviously TO has a lot of respect for FS.. if TO knows Cally's fate like so many of us already are assuming, wouldn't it just be common sense to be doing this? think about it... So now we wait! actually, if you want the truth, i am FOR pelini, have been all along.. i am giving the reasons as to why this person said that he didn't believe Pelini would become the next coach.. although, IMO, you CANNOT do these types of things IN SEASON as a D1 athlete, no matter what the sport.. yes, i'm in college now, yes i know exactly what it is like.. there have been many weekends i'm never back, many times we've been wasted all night.. but then again, i'm not a student-athlete like these players are.. were you? can you comment on the way that that needs to be run? I can tell you that Osborne would look into character issues such as these which is honestly the only reason i see us possibly not hiring him.. this is the thing, for normal college kids, that are paying their own way or mommy and daddy are paying, it may be more normal, for student-athletes in the middle of the season, this just can't be going on..
