  1. Nebraska Volleyball fans are more loyal and have more Faith in their coaches than the new breed of husker football fans. If you think for a moment that any team can dominate the Big Ten like Nebraska and Oklahoma did the Big 8, your on Crack and need a reality check. Recruiting is harder, and the competition is tougher. Building a system takes time, and with COVID, it will take even longer.
  2. So.... If you get rid of Frost, with Nebraska hiring and firing coaches in quick order... Just what decent coach would want the job?
  3. Martinez needs to be benched. Plays scared and stupid.
  4. Adrian is not the same as he was his freshman year and needs to be benched. He acts scared.
  5. I don't thin the problem is Frost, I think it is his love for Martinez. Nebraska will not get better on offense until Adrian graduates and is gone. He is not the player he was in his freshman year. It is like he is scared.
  6. I learned what I already knew. Husker fans hype the fun out of the opening game every year. Predictions of scores like 70-14, really? I have been a Husker fan since I was a toddler, but the preseason hype that Husker fans put out there just gets worse every year. This isn't the Big 8, or even the Big 12, and with rule changes the average teams or the not so good teams always have a chance to play competitive against teams better than them on paper. I wish Husker fans would just be more realistic. Every year is a new year. We don't really know what we have for a team until the 3rd or 4th game. Just be real. Trash me if it makes you feel better, I am just telling it like I see it.
  7. Including 8 teams would insure that all truly viable teams would be included. Any more than that and you are just extending the seasons of some undeserving teams. If you only have 4 teams being included, there will be teams that have won a major conference that will not be included due to politics probably. There will always be conferences that will eat their own, depleting the records of the conference champions, and those teams could easily be better than those that went undefeated in weaker conferences.
  8. I think this move may be a step backwards. Bo at least got 9 wins a season, this guy has not proven can do do that. consistently. Now that he is hired, we will have to wait and see. On the positive side, he does have good talent to work with.
  9. Agreed, the laces look stupid over the N. I have to disagree. I like the look.
  10. I think we should have a super-conference with all the "elites", which would include teams that have won National Championships, and those teams would vote in any other teams to be part of that conference. It could be split into several divisions, with the NC's split equally through them.
  11. Well they better hurry up and get the fish packed, I heard from the UHaul people down on 27th Street that Bo has 4 large trucks ordered up with a special request for chains to put on the tires if they are needed.
  12. KU? Really? 95% of the time they do nothing but hurt your chances at a National Championship, not because they are that good, but because they are that bad.
  13. I don't miss Texas, or any of the other Texas schools for that matter. The Big 12 was nothing more than a conference built to cater to them. I miss the old Big 8, even if it did have Colorado.
  14. I am thinking that if the alignment goes the way that ESPN says, Nebraska will be better off in the West, EXCEPT - if they were in that Eastern division, they would get higher rankings in the polls if they won. I don't think they will get the same respect in the West Division.
  15. The 71-72 Huskers were dominate. The only team that could even play with them was Oklahoma at the time. I still believe that they were the best team that Nebraska ever put on a field, except MAYBE for the 97 Huskers. Long live Jerry Tagge and Johnny Rogers! Most of the people on this board were probably not even alive in the early 70's, so I am not expecting much support.
  16. This team has always been the team of the citizens of Nebraska, most of which have not gone to the University, but are average dokes like myself. "In the day", on a Saturday when Nebaska football was on the radio, and not even being televised, the state would grind to a halt for about 3 hours, as everyone in the state would be sitting next to a radio somewhere, since the game was transmitted to the whole state, cheering on their Huskers. That tradition can only be found in a few places in this country...luckily Nebraska is one. I live in Nevada now, but there is a large contingency of Husker fans here, and in the neighboring states of California, Idaho, and Arizona.
  17. Totally agree...things will have to change if Nebraska ever wants to contend for a NC again....Bo will not get us there.
  18. We have heard about the so-called scheme being too complicated since Bo got here, Horse Pucky! The also have come out every year and said they basically have dumbed it down for the players to understand. What I am seeing is bad coaching, which is shown through bad play. Turnovers and penalties are an example of this. There is also no real depth on the offense, and the defensive line is starting to get very thin, and that is recruiting as well as coaching. The one area that is really not that bad is the secondary coverage on the defense. In fact, I would say that it is the brightest spot on this team, which in the past has actually been the achilles heal of the defense because they didn't have anyone to play man to man, and had to play with a buffer and just make the tackle after the ball was caught and try to limit how much yardage was gained.
  19. Bo Pelini isn't a good head coach You really can win when you turn the ball over more than your opponent Just because you play a more consistent game the the opposing team, you may not win if your Northwestern
  20. Michigan 45-17 4 Nebraska turnovers.
  21. I hear what your saying skersfan, but I don't think it would work with Dr. Tom, he is too laid back. I think Bo was asked to do the impossible, to come into a program that Callahan destroyed and to fix it, not only fix it, but to bring it to the standard that Nebraska fans are used to. I think it would take a really strong personality to get through to Bo, because I am sure in his mind he is right. The one area that something needs to be done immediately is on the recruiting front. I have a feeling that we are going to have a real issue when it comes to getting any quality players to come in here. Right now, there isn't much to sell them on. It isn't only Bo, but there are other coaching issues that need to be taken care of...and those have to start being taken care of immediately after this season is over. If Bo survives, there are going to have to be some other coaches that get the axe IMHO. The coaching just isn't getting it. I think Martinez is doing great for what he is, and what he is being asked to do. He is a great athlete, but he is not a great QB. He has great legs, and would make a great back. He has come a long way, but he would not be starting for many top 25 teams as a QB, if any.
  22. Unfortunately, I don't think this is the answer. The only way Dr. Tom could make a difference is to come and take the job himself, and he cannot, and would not do that because of his age. Bo's style gets him in a lot of trouble, he wants to win, but he just can't get the job done as a head coach, I'm afraid. Recruiting has even suffered, and I don't see that changing either with him as head coach.
  23. I am seriously starting to wonder what Bo does offer the team? Where are the Blackshirts? We damn sure aren't dominating anyone with this defense through a whole game. The turnovers are the worst of any Nebraska team that I can remember...though I am sure that there have been worse. We have a O-line that only plays half the game (of course the whole team could be accused of that one). I said it after the Ohio State game, and I will say it again, Bo is not head coach material. He may be a good defensive coach - when he spends his time doing it full time, but he damn sure isn't a good head coach. And his temper tantrums on the sideline have now got us a reputation, and it costs us penalties. I say Bo may get one more year, but after that he is gone, unless he makes some coaching changes and starts turning things around. We won with a lot of luck yesterday...we should have been blown out with all the stupid mistakes. That is bad coaching.
  24. Why do you have to be so damn negative on anyone that posts something YOU don't like? How about trying something new...like going on to a post that you do like, usually a HOMER that thinks nobodys stuff stinks even when it does, just because they are on the football team or affilieated with it? It is people like you that have made me stop coming on here. I know stink when I smell it, and I am smelling it...not only with you, but with where this football team is. If you don't like it, too damn bad. Who the hell are you? And obviously you don't have any good recipes, since everything you're smelling stinks. Sorry Bud, but it is your cooking that stinks in this kitchen. And I don't come on here to get recipes...if that is what your looking for, go to Martha Stewart.
  25. I totally agree about the inconsistency of this team. Seems it is a theme the last few years. I had someone tell me today that they thought Bo might be a good defensive coach, but he isn't a good head coach, and I am starting to see that if he don't start winning some big games with top ten teams, they might just be right. I am also getting tired of the comments from other team's fans about his temper tantrums on the sidelines. Heard it again tonight from a OSU fan. Not too many coaches are going to get away with that behaviour for long, before they go over the line and end up getting fired. Do we really need him tarnishing Nebraska's reputation because he can't control his temper? I for one am getting tired of it. We keep hearing that we are only a year away from being a top ten team from the so called pundits on this board, that the team isn't that far away. Well, I have listened to that now for the last 3 years, this is Bo's team, Callahan's rejects are all gone. Where is it? I am not seeing it, especially when every game is a tale of two halves, where one half they play well, and the other half they do everything they can to lose it. I have gone out of my way not to be negative this season, but a person can take only so much. This is not a Nebraska team that is getting the quality coaching that our championship teams got. Sorry, but it isn't there. What did we do tonight, go in at halftime and make adjustments to lose the game? Why is there no consistency? Why do we have all the turnovers? Martinez is either hot or really cold, or turning the ball over. He is a good athlete, maybe a great athlete, but he is not a good QB, and would not start on any top ten team out there. There is my rant. So all you Homers that think there is nothing wrong with what is happening on this team...just make my day and attack me or anyone else that is seeing that our "emporer" has no clothes. He is not proving he is a good head coach. He also is not doing the university or the team any favors with his temper tantrums. We are going to start seeing the officiating being tainted against us again because of it. Count on it.
