The next offense scheme..

Recommended Posts

I would go back to a either a pro-set or I-Formation, perhaps not neccesarily an option offense, but with Ganz you could have that wrinkle in there. I would definately get back to a fullback and go back to being able to run down the ball down people's throats.

I formation and spread option combo offense, being able to do what ATM, OSU, WV, Florida do offensively, with the same down-hill running from the I-formation. We can get athletic DUAL tHREAT QBs to come here for that. An attacking 4-3 defense with speed and physicality and TENACITY all rolled up with discipline!

This might end up sounding absolutely retarded, but when I was thinking about how Mizzou uses their tight ends out there away from the line as extra receivers, it got me wondering, how cool would it be to use a monster I-form set, then shift it into a spread look, using your TEs as receivers and maybe a running back as well? It would be a fairly involved process, considering the kind of dual threats you'd need at your specialist positions, but damn it would look sweet. And talk about a nightmare for DCs.

See, I'm even kind enough to include a stunning visual aid.

I expect a version of the spread option. When run right it is a total nightmare do defend, and it is great at getting the ball to playmakers in space(assuming of course the coach knows what he is doing)

Depends on the QB, Pat White and Vince Young make it look great, Colt McCoy makes it look like crap.

i want to see an offense that has a single back 4WR spread and then run up the middle....then sweep...then option

another formation would be I form, and one i perticularly like is the wish bone, cant be stoped when running an option.

then go to shot gun spread have a back there and then option or zone read like WVU

it works... :box

RECRUIT TO SCHEME! Mack Brown doesn't recruit well at QB. Outside of Sims and Young they have blown it on the top QBs. John Chiles, the backup QB was a WR, that played one year of QB for a non-playoff team. Texas took him as an athlete. They intended for Sherrod Harris to be the backup, but he was injured. They don't have sound backup. NU under TO didn't recruit non-option QBs. All you do is recruit dual threat QBs and you will stay stocked at QB. ATM has them and so does OSU. Recruit to system, don't just hand out ship sto recruiting list QBs.
