So wait a minute, Frank Solich goes 9-3 & Pud fires him, but Pittsburgh's coach goes 5-7 & he retains his job? The way Pud operates doesnt seem to make much sense IMO

 

Callahan did an excellent job and was 5-7. Puddy knows talent when he sees it. Solich may have had the better record, but he didnt have the 4 and 5 star athletes.

I believe you are correct. Callahan was about 5th or 6th choice after Zimmerman of the Cowboys and I think Al Saunders of the Chiefs.

 

I think Wanny is PUD's favorite no matter where he is.

 

Yes, He was the reason Pud fired Solich, unfortunately for Pud, Miami Dolphins gave him another year.

if I was Callahan I would just go take a yearlong vacation in Europe or the Caribbean and then come back in 2009 as an OC somewhere and worry about another head coachin position later.....
