  1. Hmmm...I hope Fiala is left in place, I really like his commentary, he's a former Husker and an all-around great guy.
  2. There are other names being thrown around like Shawn Simms but it is likely Porter or Drayton because of the fact they are waiting for after the bowl games to make the official announcement. Shawn Simms? I googled him real quick and found him as a linebacker coach from ISU formerly of Bowling Green. Coached Colorado (Purify tore us up) for a few years. Is this the guy? What do all you experts think of him as a choice?
  3. From http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...chool-headlines speaking with Corey McKeon. "I definitely didn't play as well as a senior as I would have liked and I wasn't satisfied with it at all," McKeon said. "They changed the defense on us this year and we maybe got overworked a little in the spring and summer. Everyone had a lot invested in this season and as we started to falter, guys kind of caved in a little." Imagine that...the info begins to leak out. Just a minor thing..."changed the defense." Do you think Cosgrove could've gotten a clue as to how that change was working after the USC or Ball State game? Nope, he couldn't have because up until the 65 points that Colorado hung on his defense, we were still playing it. Man those coaches were arrogant.
  4. He is credited with the return of Pitt football to something resembling its glory days, and with building their basketball team into a perennial contender. He leaves for Nebraska and viola! they go back in the toilet in both sports. They probably couldn't write up a contract fast enough to please their fans to get him back "home." Seriously, the absolutely love the guy there. Hey com'on...it's Pittsburgh...you know, the school that goes by "Pitt." Names mean things you know...they were made for each other. And you know what? Good for Pedersen...he may have sucked here, but good luck to him elsewhere. I don't wish ill will towards anyone...sometimes stuff just doesn't work out. Same for Callahan, Cosgrove, et al...I hope they land on their feet somewhere else. It's just football afterall....ok, not around here, but you know what I mean. Yep. I feel exactly the same way. I don't want any of them here, but I wish them well whereever they go. Everyone deserves a chance to earn a living. yeah, well Pud made damn sure Cally was going to get a big check, for some time to come...brilliant move. True dat. And, using that logic, should Pearlman be gone as well? Which begs the question: How high up the ladder do you go with firings? Callahan was coach, Pud hired him, Pearlman hired Pud, Pearlman agreed with Pud's decision to extend Callahan's contract, Pearlman extended Pud's contract. Do we hold Pearlman responsible for the entire fiasco or do we take the position that the buck stops with Pud? Afterall, Pearlman delegated athletic decisions to his AD. He should defer those decisions to Pud and hold him solely responsible. Sorry to digress into a different topic!!!

  6. Callahan did an excellent job and was 5-7. Puddy knows talent when he sees it. Solich may have had the better record, but he didnt have the 4 and 5 star athletes. Puddy knows what he is doing. I think you got Pud's nickname wrong, you were close...it's not "Puddy" it's "Puddin'."
  7. Too old? Nah...he's only 70 and he's probably in better shape than you or I. Besides, TO was probably stressing more watching from afar than being in the middle of things. I think this turn of events has been as healthy for Osborne as the State of Nebraska.
  8. You mean the defense that is third in the nation in total defense? :asshat Yeah, that defense that choked time and again when things got tight. Bo Pelini isn't even considered the best DC in the SEC, many southern media outlets regard Will Muschamp to be a better DC. This just in! Rick Neuheisel is replacing Coach Hawkins! Beach Buffs...you can safely take your sweater vest out of the closet, grab your guitar and go down to the handholding kumbaya singalong with Neuheisel!!! Happy days are here again!!!
  9. As far as Pelini being an assistant coach, I've addressed this in another thread, but here goes... Can you really see a guy like Pelini taking a DC job at a school that had turned him down not once, but twice for the head coaching position? No way. If Bo doesn't land a head coaching job this year, and is forced to leave LSU, I can't see him coming here as an assistant. He's got too much pride, and would pretty much have a 'f#*k you' attitude towards us if we pass him over as coach for a second time. Its his parish, man. The parish is what would draw him back. Never underestimate the power of family and God. Hmm, in that case, Notre Dame and Oral Roberts should be perennial powers, eh?
  10. I would think that Osborne is trying to reconnect with all of the Nebraska high school programs that have been neglected during the Callahan years (from now on known as, "the Dark Era"). TO is simply trying to take back what is rightfully NU's. TG would understand this better than anyone. It would be an egregious mistake for TO not to try and keep all worthy Nebraska kids at NU.
  11. Well, it could be worse...you could get kicked in the "mangina."
  12. You know, I was in Holdrege, NE several times...and when the people there say, "back east" they mean Lincoln or Omaha. I kid you not! So, "back east" is all a matter of perception...east means anything east of where you're at...
  13. BTTT...let's get some more votes on here...we need at least 100 votes people!!!
  14. Well now...isn't that convenient! I actually predicted this to be TO's plan from the beginning. He doesn't want Gill, Pelini or anyone else to be coach! He wants to coach himself! And now...his plan has worked flawlessly!
  15. Who cares about the rumor. The pasta and meatballs at SOn's is the greatest!! Mosc and sausage next week!!!!!! That is too funny! Were you sitting at my table?
