Is BC better than Stoops?

Stoops took a 3 win team and made them go something like 7-4. Callahan took a 10 win team and took them to 5-6.

Comparing them based soley on their first year's record ignores what personnel was enrolled that year, what the coaches wanted to do with the program on each side of the ball and what it would have taken to get it done. They were DEFINITELY not the same situations.

Agreed, blake (one of NUs coaches now, unfortunately) had NC talent, but led OU to a 3-7, 4-8, 5-6 record, something like that.

But once they got a guy who could motivate, teach, and gameplan, they won, alot!

It sure is funny how cal backers point out that blake recruited 18 of the 22 starters that won OUs NC, but they conveniently forget that he was so terrible as a coach, he couldnt muster a winning season with all that talent (seems to be a trend w/ bc's staff).

Gee, like Ive been saying, you can have the all the great horses you want, but you have to have a jockey that can guide the horses, otherwise they wont make it to the finish line.

Gee, like duh. Gee, the difference here is a lot of people have condemned this class and all future classes and the staff to hell fire already.

There's not enough data to even being to talk about trends with Callahan's staff

Trends-Cal took 2 highly successful teams to their worst seasons in recent history in back to back years. Player dissent, team malcontent, he placing the blame on everyone else for his failures.

cosgrove-his D's were consistently rated right around the middle of the pack in the NCAA. His D at UW sucked last year, but was top ten this year when he was gone.

NU's D was top 10 last year but sucked once he got here.

blake-loser, consistently.

elmo-16 jobs in 21 years, are you kidding me?

busch-who?

wagner-thats right he coached that one team in that one bowl game that one year.

norvell-see blake

Stoops didn't fare too well his 1st year and he had quite a bit of talent on that team.  Callahan didn't fare well this season and I think his talent was much less than Stoops had his 1st year at OU.  This will be much easier to compare in 3-4 years when we see if Callahan adjusts to the college game and we start getting gamebreakers to come to school here again.  Stoops is a much better coach now, but OU fans were pretty pissed last year after their back-to-back losses to close out the year.  And if you watched OU vs KSt this year, Snyder did outcoach Stoops but the talent level on OU's side was the difference in the end.

Stoops and Callahan both struggled their 1st years was my point. Stoops had more talent than Callahan. When is everyone going to realize this was not the same team as last year? If you were excited about that team last year and the direction we were headed you're insane! We hadn't beat a ranked team since OU in 2001. What makes you think Frank could have done so much better this year? He lost his best offensive player and 3 of his best defensive players. The Sooners were 5-6 in 1998 btw, and in 99 had Josh Heupel, Jason White, Quentin Griffen, Roy Williams, Rocky Calmus, Andre Woolfolk, Antwan Savage, Stockar McDougle. Quite a bit more talent than the Huskers in 03. Stoops inherited talent when he took over.

Good assist. coach not cut out for a head job.(Solich ring a bell) It's funny how he helped the Cowboys win a Super Bowl.

busch-who?

Figured everyone around here would love him. Crap he is from Nebraska, was a GA at Nebraska. As far as the who? part I'm sure you knew who Pelini was before he came to the Big Red.

He coached at Frenso State. Wayne State before that. How many of Frankies band-aids had coached any team in a bowl?

Like I've said before you can find these guys bio's on the web. Read up on them and youmight learn a few things.

So if they had all that talent why did they have 3 wins to show for it? CAllahan didn't have any talent? Had the whole team back basically with 10 wins. Ruud isn't talented? Bullocks bros are talented? Fabian isn't talented? Ross isn't talented? Herian isn't talented? My god there is plenty of talent on this team.
