Blackshirt Posted January 23, 2005 Author Share Posted January 23, 2005 A surprise visitor came outta left field this weekend and landed in Lincoln. WR Tyrell Spain from San Diego (Calif.) Mesa Community College, 6-3 190-pounds. Former HS quarterback who committed to New Mexico State outta high school, but didn't qualify. Then took a year off before he went to CC in San Diego. Wyoming, Nevada and Oregon State have expressed interest, & he is currently commited to Tulsa. The NU coaches REALLY like what they saw in Spain's film, and are shocked this guy has gone unnoticed by the big dawgs for this long -- so if he passes the eyeball test this weekend and his grades are up to snuff, dont be surprised to see an offer and a commitment from Tyrell this wknd. Thought I hears the NU coaches showed up at his doorstep and he wasn't home, and after the fact just told them that they were wasting his time. Anyone hear anything different? Quote Link to comment
