Chizek Avoids Legal Woes….Spring Practice Begins as Scheduled in Ames

Angry youths try to stop Head Coach Gene Chizek during alleged ball heist

When approached by police, Chizek explained that he hadn’t stolen the football but had traded for it. He said he gave each boy a ticket to the Cyclone Spring Football game in exchange for the use of their ball.

“We had our first spring practice scheduled for Wednesday afternoon and that cheap-ass AD hadn’t bought us a football to practice with! What the hell was I supposed to do?” commented Chizek. “It was a fair trade…them little bastards wanted two jockstraps and a football shoe but I jawed em down to three tickets and now they’re trying to welsh on the deal”

“ He told us he’d give us tickets to a football game” complained Ben Dover, the former owner of the football, “but he didn’t tell us it was gonna be the Cyclones playing against the Cyclones…that ain’t no football game. We got screwed!”

Authorities have dismissed the charges

“Even little kids gotta learn that it’s a dog eat dog world out there…” said Ames police officials.
