NamelessHusker
Has narrowed his list down to 6 teams. 3 of those teams already have visits setup. He visited Ohio St on 9/9 when they played host to Texas and lost at home. He also visited Florida St this weekend and witnessed Florida St destroy Syracuse. His last official visit is set for NU when it plays host to Oklahoma on 10/29. The other 3 teams batteling for the final 2 visits are Florida (will end up with one in my opinion), LSU and Miami. He will not be making any decision untill the U.S. Army All American game, so those looking for a verbal after his visit wont get one. Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
A. J Wallace took his second official visit this season to Florida St, after taking his first official visit to Ohio St on Sep 9th against Texas. His visit for the OU game will be his his third visit to Lincoln in the past 7 months. Wallace's other 2 trips to NU include a summer camp and the Spring game. Nebraska is recruiting him hard with a couple of other schools. I like our chances with him a lot due to the fact that this is his third visit to NU. The other school that could be head to head with NU is Ohio St, only because he has been to Ohio St twice (official visit against Ohio St and unofficial visit with J.B Walton to Penn St/Ohio St game) Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
Season Stats: 91 rushes for 645 yards and 5TD's, 7 catches for 90 yards 1TD McDonough's Wallace Answers Self-Challenge Touted Recruit Reverses Slow Start By Alan Goldenbach Washington Post Staff Writer Wednesday, October 12, 2005; Page E09 In a quiet respite from his chaotic senior season, McDonough's A.J. Wallace stood before the mirror in the school's weight room last week and challenged himself. "I looked at myself and I said, 'I know I could do better than this,' " he said. One of the nation's most heavily recruited players in the class of 2006, Wallace entered Monday night's game at Huntingtown having rushed for just 92 yards on 28 carries his previous two games. There were whispers around Southern Maryland -- which Wallace heard -- that he might not be worth all the hype. "I was thinking about that a little bit," said the 6-foot-1, 195-pound Wallace, who is being recruited as a defensive back. "Some people around [Charles County] were questioning my ability. When I got named to the [u.S. Army All-American Bowl on Sept. 14] that's when I felt the most pressure to start to produce." Wallace certainly produced in McDonough's 24-6 victory against the Hurricanes. On the first play from scrimmage, he ran 38 yards for a touchdown. After Huntingtown scored on the next series, the Rams handed off to Wallace again on first down, and he ran 68 yards for another touchdown. On a slippery field, Wallace finished with a career-high 268 yards on 24 carries with three touchdowns. "A.J. was back to his old self," McDonough Coach Dave Bradshaw said. It might be because Wallace is healthy for the first time this season. He pulled a quadriceps muscle in McDonough's first scrimmage, and was not recovered by the opener. He still played, but was clearly a step off, gaining only 75 yards in a 20-6 loss to Chopticon. Then, in the second quarter of last week's loss to No. 6 Westlake, Wallace was spiked in the ribs while making a tackle, which gave him trouble breathing the rest of the game. All the while, he has managed dozens of phone calls and gossip about his recruitment, which has taken him to Ohio State and Florida State on official visits, and last weekend to Penn State on an unofficial trip. He plans to visit Nebraska in two weeks, and Florida, LSU and Miami are competing for his final two official visits. He said he plans to announce his college choice at the All-American Bowl on Jan. 7 in San Antonio. Link Quote Link to comment

kramer
I've read he enjoyed his unoffical to Penn State. Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
That's usually what you will hear 9 times out of 10 from a recruit. Nothing suprising. Quote Link to comment
DaveH
He loved his trip. A 10 according to him. I think we are sitting pretty well with this guy. Quote Link to comment
KansasHusker
I really hope we land this guy, it would make me feel better about our future and our defensive back unit... Quote Link to comment
lemonjello
It sounds like we won't know for a while. I have heard that he really wants to commit at the army game. Quote Link to comment

Eric the Red
Visit Date: Oct. 29 v. Oklahoma Scholarships offered: Over 15 including: Ohio State, Penn State, Florida State, Nebraska, Miami (Fl), USC Favorites: Penn St. and Ohio St. Rankings/Stars: Rivals: #3/ Bid Red Report:#8/ Assessing the talent: Super fast DB who is quite strong with a bench of about 275. His grades are good so qualifying shouldn’t be a problem. He is a solid cover corner, but rushed for over 1,300 yards as a junior. Is being recruited hard by the majors. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 30% Quote Link to comment

NamelessHusker
Have fun at Penn St. Wallace. It was good while it lasted. I mentioned in another thread that if he doesn't end up at NU (and odds are dropping right now) that Ohio St will get his verbal in my opinion Quote Link to comment
HuskerInKC16
Jeremy Crabtree was on 1620 the Zone last night and said that we have a great chance at getting Wallace. Sounds like he will probably announce his decision at the AA game. I'll take his word over anybody out there, the guy knows everything. Quote Link to comment
