Now this has no impact on what Bo will do this year, but it is a good article to put things into perspective on what has happened in the past. Some very good coaches have struggled their first year and some not so good coaches have done well their first year.

I think Bo is the exception to this rule. Coaching is his life and I believe that he could care less what others in his position have done.

Every situation is unique. Some programs have continuity, others start from scratch. In our case our offensive system is unchanged and in fact probably improved from a coaching and accessibility standpoint. Our new defensive scheme has a proven track record of being implemented successfully in one season in varying situations. While I don't think a top 10 finish is in our immediate future, Pelini's mere presence guarantees a better result than last year by a considerable margin.
