KU Athletic Department Ignores the Obvious...

Recommended Posts

This just in from Lawrence via the Omaha paper:

The good news for Kansas is that the football program has two new beautiful practice fields.

The not-so-good news for coach Mark Mangino, who learned to like secrecy to the max from former Kansas State coach Bill Snyder, is that the fields are in plain view of anyone walking by.

So the KU athletic department will pay for the planting of 100 pine trees that are 10 to 20 feet tall to obscure the view. Total cost: $90,000.

If Mangino is so concerned about secrecy, instead of wasting $90,000 (which my athletic department would kill for by the way....) on trees that most of the KU players will probably be using as urinals, rending them dead within a couple years anyway, why doesn't he just stand between the field and the walkways, effectively blocking the view of both practice fields and most of the rest of the campus from the prying eyes of anyone that walks by?

Oh well...I guess the KU Athletic Department didn't get to where it is now by worrying about how many academic all-stars they have in their program.... <_<

that mean mangino will just have to skip the buffet once a week for a couple of months.
