This article talks about Tierre moving to DB(either safety or cb), clayton sievers moving to defensive end, ryan goodman moving to safety, and Jared Helming moving back to defensive tackle. An announcement and explanation from Callahan is coming soon reportedly.

Now with sometime passing...was this a smart move to make?? Green to DB, did the Huskers have a choice?

I'd say as thin as NU is at running back right now, they are just as thin in the secondary if not worse. It's pretty clear that Green isn't going to be a #1 guy at RB so they bit the bullet and made the move now to try and get him on the field and possibly be a playmaker in the secondary. The addition of Lucky and Glenn make him expendable to the defense. This also gives the coaches one less hole to fill if they would like to have Leon Jackson play on offense, so that if he played defense it would be because that is what he is suited for, not for necessity.

Will he be any better than 2nd string at db? Maybe he'll play some in nickel packages but if bowman and recruits are as good as supposedly are along with grixby, brothers, and defrand....who knows.
