huskerhaze
Early in the game we chose to punt with this down and distance. Then VT returned the punt basically back to the line of scrimmage. With 20-20 hind sight, we should have went for it! Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Maybe we should have, but if you look at it that way VT won because they got points off of the INT that Ganz threw. Quote Link to comment

Hell, there are all kinds of positives to take from this game. I was pretty happy with the defense. They made mistakes and are still learning, but the effort and passion were there. No quit in those kids this year. That is encouraging, and the team will profit from that down the line. Quote Link to comment
General Blackshirt
In hindsight, I think we should have just won. I would have liked that more. Quote Link to comment
Dan_F_30
Why go for it. Watson came into the game I think knowing he wasn't going to run the ball because they can't run the ball. They can't hide it or sugar coat it anymore. The running game is non-existent and will hamper them the whole year. All this experience on the O-line and they can't run block. If they can't run the ball, you have to ASSUME your punt coverage is going to make a tackle, and at times last night that was a little too much to assume. But since they returned it to the original line of scrimmage you can't automatically say they should have gone for it, because the way the run was getting stuffed they would have had it there anyway. Trust your punt coverage. Quote Link to comment
