stargazer
Am I mistaken... or is the Heisman not awarded to the best -college football- player ? Who cares what he's done since. Consider what he did at Nebraska. Career total offense leader at Nebraska Career rushing quarterback leader in Big 12 Longest touchdown run in Nebraska history Career touchdown leader at Nebraska One of 3 QB's in history to pass for 4,000 yards/rush for 3,000 yards in career Most career wins at Nebraska Only 9th player in D1 to win 35 games Only 13th QB in NCAA history to rush/pass 1,000 yards in a season NCAA record for most career rushing TD's Run/pass/reception TD in a single game So many highlight plays The typical system quarterback today winning the Heisman simply makes his completions and racks up yards/touchdowns with the help of his receivers. Crouch was a far more exciting/athletic player to watch. Quote Link to comment
SkullandBones
I thought is was kinda cool that all three Husker winners were on stage last night. Quote Link to comment
SouthBayHusker
He won a lot of games for NEBRASKA but I agree with espn. My dad went to HS with crouch's real dad, His dad was a QUITTER also so it must run in the blood. Quote Link to comment

T_O_Bull
Here is your "shoulda" Heisman winner for 2001: First QB in college history to rush for 1000 yards and pass for 2000 yards. Just my unbiased opinion. ;-) Never heard of him. Oh yeah he played in the always tuff ACC. Was he a point or shooting guard?... Oops we were talking football weren't we. T_O_B Quote Link to comment
T_O_Bull
Eric Crouch did not deserve his Heisman? Huh? The guy was our entire team in '01. Without him the Huskers would have been unbelievably bad. Not only does he carry us that year, he carries us into a national title game. Whether someone voted on this "poll" or someone wrote this "article" they obviously have no clue how valuable Eric Crouch was, nor ever watched him play. BTW, where are they in saying Eddie George should be bringing back Tommie Frazier's Heisman? That isn't top 5? yeah eddie george takes the cake for worst heisman ever imo. he wasn't even the best running back that year. The best running back that year was to busy pulling his GF down the steps by her hair. Quote Link to comment

huskerpilot
what a joke. The Heisman has nothing to do with anything but college football. Not personal life, race, hair color, sexual performance, and absolutely not NFL. If everyone died immediately after they got the Heisman, this article would never have been written. I hate people like this. Quote Link to comment
