General Blackshirt
Has this happened to anyone else? I'll get emails how an artist has claimed they have the rights to the music (which they do) in my highlight videos and that it has been removed from youtube; probably happened to 6-7 of my highlight videos. I mean, yea, it's their song and everything, but what's the point of youtube if nobody is allowed to display anything of the works? Nothing at all would look good and professional if you weren't allowed to use music, video, thoughts, and ideas of professionals in videos. Just kinda frustrating to me. Quote Link to comment

strigori
Its less the artists and more the record companies. And stupid if you ask me. Not only are people not making money off youtube videos, I feel that it is pretty much free advertising. Quote Link to comment
huskeraddict
At first, when it happened, they were fine with just placing an ad on your video's page. However, now that most savvy computer users have ad blockers, they gain almost nothing with them. So, they've flat resorted to removing videos. I've gotten rid of almost all my videos on YT because of this. Quote Link to comment
General Blackshirt
One of my videos wasn't necessarily removed, just banned in some countries. That's kinda cool Quote Link to comment

HuskersNC949597
Huh, maybe we need to compile a list of labels/musicians that allow their stuff to be used so we don't waste our time putting together a video only to find out it's being banned by the YT music commies ;p Or perhaps such a thing already exists. rawhide
Never had a problem but then I don't know how to make a video. GBR Where are the sites that allow all the good vids??? Quote Link to comment
huskerfan500
yeah it sucks, I have never posted any vids with music, but some of my favs such as a couple of husker projects have been taken off, which kind of sucks Quote Link to comment

HuskersNC949597
It's free advertising. Certain labels take advantage by putting a link on my videos to download the tracks. I can live with that. Quote Link to comment

Its also an absurd over reaction, that is only angering their customers. Links to buy are the better option. Quote Link to comment
