DJR313
I am of the mindset that I don't believe that every starter necessarily deserves a Blackshirt. Just because you start doesn't entitle you to a Blackshirt, on the same token, just because you come off the bench should not disqualify you from being a Blackshirt. For example, a 5th D-Lineman/pass rush specialist, nickel or dime backer, etc. Quote Link to comment

Husker_x
No, no, and no. I think it should be for the starters and a backup or two that play a reasonable amount (these days our base package shifts depending on the opponent from 3lb to nickel to dime). I'm not even opposed to certain individuals not getting them based off poor performance. But the whole team? Go root for Iowa State. Quote Link to comment
RaiderMan
What's the significance of the black shirt? I hear people refer to NU's defense as blackshirts but have no idea what it's about. Quote Link to comment

J_2_THA_BONE
That would defeat the whole purpose of having the Blackshirts in the first place... Does this person know they are used to differentiate between the starters and non-starters? Quote Link to comment
