  1. jliehr, I hope your right. It's time to put this wounded duck out of its misery.
  2. Tech plays the Fightin' Nerds of Texas A&M next Saturday. So there's no time for gloating because we relish kicking those arrogant dorks in the teeth every year. Your season is not over. Good luck.
  3. And it's a good defense no doubt. Good luck in your remaining games this year. Maybe we'll see each other again in the B12 Championship! It's still statistically possible you know. Y'all have a better chance than us but we can all hope.
  4. Post-game headlines in Lubbock Avalanche-Journal: 1. Texas Tech uniforms ruined when "Crimson Creamers" turn game into bukake party 2. Husker fans have no alibi. "They're ugly!" says B12 Commissioner 3. Tech linemen feast on corn fritters...destroy hotel plumbing 4. Tech winning handily, female trainer takes over at QB. Husker fans: "She ran up the score!" 5. Nebraska SUHks!
  5. Well, I'd say TTech doesn't actually need any RB's. NU actually runs the ball AT a defense so we need RB's who can take on tacklers and follow blocks. TTech's run game is more like a surprise (like NU's passing game in the 80's and 90's) and almost any skill player could compete there. Yours is one of the better descriptions of Tech's running game I've come across, although I'm not sure that "almost any skill player" could play the position for us. Our backs are mostly "open space" runners so we look for speedy/elusive backs who are not afraid to hit the open hole hard (like me!); they must also have good vision and be competent at pass protection. The picture I'm getting of Rex from NU fans suggests he would have been a great IR in our system. It's too bad we missed out but nice to see that y'all have embraced him.
  6. ...the equivalent of bragging that you're the best skier on the bunny slope.
  7. Hanspard made a decision to declare for the draft so he could blow-off his final semester. Them's the rules as they say. Besides, his future would be based on faith not brains. Since God told him to pick Tech over Notre Dame, who were we to argue? Tell you what, if you don't judge our program on Byron Hanspard's legal but disappointing choice, we won't judge your program solely on Danny Noonan, the former "all roids, not talent" Nebraska DT and 1st round bust of our beloved Dallas Cowboys. He was the beginning of the end for the great Tom Landry.
  8. Well allrighty then. I'm glad both schools are happy too. I only saw a few minutes of the NU/MU game and he had a good 10-15 yd run. I still think he'd be better off at IR like a Welker or Amandola type player. He'd be 4th on our RB depth chart because Jeffers (RS-Fr) and Stephens (Fr) are truly special backs. So if that's the position Rex wants to play, I'm glad y'all got him. Too bad he won't be playing on Saturday, I'd like to see more of him.
  9. It seems only fair that I purchase Longhorn season tickets to make up for those penalties.
  10. It is not that he refuses to work on his defense, it is just that the caliber of athlete willing to come to Tech to play defense has not caught up with the type of athletes that come to play in his offense. That's a chicken-or-egg debate. Do you do better because you have better athletes or do you get better athletes because you do better? Hard to say. Not a chicken and egg debate. Over the past 3 years Tech has recruited some of the best defensive talent in our program's history (finally!). Tech's defense will improve greatly over the next few years.
  11. Tech fans weren't too upset when Rex commited to NU. Even today, I doubt you would find one Tech fan (outside Plano) willing to trade Jeffers, Batch or Stephens for Rex. He would probably play IR in Tech's system anyway. So is Rex a much better RB than Tech fans thought or is Nebraska thin at the the RB position?
