Not sure what to title this thread?

I used to write some articles back during the Bill Callahan era and haven't felt compelled to write one since getting banned for cheering on OSU so as to ensure there was a coaching change.

That was actually a very tough time, with fans turning against one another and now is not the time to do all of this.

When I was a kid, I remember when it dawned on me that Nebraska was the "Go Big Red" chants I had heard while growing up and at that age not knowing it was our team.

Once this clicked for me, I remember saying wow, the "Go Big Red" is our team? and then I felt pride. I was maybe 5 or 6 years old.

I remember the pain when my father told me, "you will never play football at nebraska". To this day, I felt he should not have dashed my dreams like this.

One thing I have learned over the years, is my Dad was usually right. Being 5'6" and good at mathematics, my life took a different turn.

I was always passionate about the huskers, and felt the glass was always half full. Only to learn more lessons over the years as my Dad was right again. Season after season.

This brings us to today.

I'm now a man, I'm 40. I discuss the team with my dad weekly, and find myself looking at it more like he always did over the past few years.

I like Bo Pelini, his fire, his attitude.

I think he is a good coach.

Now, get ready cause here it comes...

Nebraska fans are pretty savvy. They knew there was an offensive problem all last week and made a multiude of suggestions on how to fix it.

Nebraska fans also have a high standard, and ripped Bo for his press conference behavior that I personally didn't think was that bad.

Bo, you talk about teaching, "being your best day in and day out." Yet you just talk the talk, and don't walk it.

I know you're not great with the media, but you gotta eat your own dog food too.

You had every chance to make offensive changes this week. Not to bag on Zac Lee, he was ok today. I also liked what I saw from D Robinson. That freshman ran hard.

So, you blew another redshirt and now you have explaining to do.

It's easy to be an armchair qb and think things should have progressed differently, but, hey, your a man, your 41.

Here comes the pain.

Why did you ruin Green's redshirt this year?

Why did you play Niles Paul after repeated ball control issues?

Most of all, why are you not involved in the offense side of the ball?

Are you just going to blame execution again?

Maybe there are other issues here and you aren't the right ceo to make those changes?

Ok, here me out.

I am a big LaTravis Washington fan. Have been, always will be. The kid is too good of a talent to be sitting on the bench.

Ohio State recruited him as a QB, and yet he warms the bench here under Watson.

I've seen other posters talk about running him in a wildcat etc type thing, not going to get into that.

What I will say is this.

On spring day (doesn't mean anything, but still big pressure) LTW came out on fire, scoring touchdowns on his first 2 series if I recall this correctly.

Zac, looked terrible on that day, but finally got it together to take the lead and win the game.

What is it that I took from that?

Zac is a slow starter, LTW came in and just got it done. Green is green, and now has a burned redshirt.

One of the things that I disagree with Bo Pelini is this. If you practice well during the week, you will play well on game day.

I think that is more of a team idea and doesn't necessarily hold any merit individually.

I remember when blasting other message board fans telling them when Joe Ganz should have started in 07, and of course I got grilled about how good Keller was going to be, etc.

What I am trying to say here is, I don't really give a damn how a particular player practices. Some kids, are not good at practice, but show up on game day.

Remember Tommie Frazier? Do you think anyone gave a darn about how he practiced durning the week?

What did we as fans like? We liked how he performed on game day.

That's it. Perform on game day.

Oh, back to my Dad... he is so right most the time, it pains me to say, he thinks Watson needs to be replaced.

He's usually right.
