  1. just want to add something about Lee remember when we heard that his father told bo to "be hard on him"? I am expecting Lee to be a completely different QB next year. why? he has support from his team he has had success, so he is quite capable he handles the media well he understands the expectations he has gone through it now, the fishbowl, the criticism. he has shown he can do it, and after the heart to heart, ran very well, on multiple occasions. he was initially coached into NOT running, so you have to laugh when now the coaches want him to run all of this and more there is serious potential that this kid will become a man in 2010 it is really up to him though, do or die scott frost did it, so can zac
  2. like sipple, I am not so sure bo is the type of guy that is motivated by money and think as long as he has success, he will thrive and enjoy being here, there will be some tough roads, but i think bo can handle that... I am not so sure allot of us, myself included could handle living in the nebraska football fishbowl. part of the empathy comes from watching others go through it, imagine for a moment if it was on your shoulders, what he is trying to do, is extremely difficult.
  3. I'll go with frost on this one.. the reason why is here is a guy that failed terribly, but he gutted it out and the next year was absolutely unstoppable.
  4. Jammal Lord easy question, easy answer let me say this, if we had Jammal Lord as a QB for 2010, people would be screaming national championship for next year. in fact, this is an insulting question and topic to pull the jammal lord card like that.
  5. I don't blame watson for applying, what bothers me is the timing.. here is the real issue, if it is about money, then I don't get it. It's not like his salary is bad and he isn't having to live in another coaches basement. i mean, he gets paid several hundred grand a year. at some point, it isn't about money anymore and money does not equal happiness. ask Tiger. what this actually shows me, is wats wants out. now, the rest is just purely my own personal opinion, but I think TO had allot to do with keeping watson. I personally believe TO told wats, stick around, if bo doesn't work out, I will make you head coach. Bo is working out, and lets be honest, this year Watson did what he had to do, but it wasn't pretty. I don't want to crucify watson, but now after hearing this, I want him gone.
  6. you mean CG is leaving? Lee will start 2010
  7. if I were a betting man, which I am not, I would say Spano gets his free education and will never see the field. if I were a jerk, which I am, I would pull the schollie since we just took Marsh as some sort of PR stunt/project. nepotism aside, I'm sure cottons kids are worthy of theirs, just like watson's kid adam. I hope u detect the sarcasm re: some of the schollie player issues.
  8. it's been several (3?) years since I went, thinking about going this year, the spring game is always a good time
  9. I liked the article and think it's a smart way to approach recruiting. Sometimes though, you don't have to re-invent the wheel. What I mean by that is, others have also done their analysis, and usually people as a society or group, get it right most of the time.
  10. I am probably the biggest LTW fan out there. I hope he gets to see the field his senior year in a meaningful way. Regardless, he is a super nice guy, and he is nfl material, they just won't know about him. I will never forgive Watson for burning his shirt this year in bs mop up duty.
  11. I haven't gone through and read the other comments yet, but wanted to add my 2 cents to this topic. I feel bad for Adrian. He is a good person and you can tell from his radio and big red wrap up video. I don't listen to the games on radio much, and I don't know if Matt D is really any better or not. What I do know, is I watch the big red wrap up tv series, and hate listening to him. There were times this season, where I wanted to take his parts of the video, chop them up, sentence by sentence at times, and then add my commentary to it, and post it on youtube. I don't make youtube videos at all, and then it dawned on me the time required to do this, and really it boils down to this guy just repeats or makes stuff up and doesn't really think about what he is saying. The word I personally came up with for him was: GasBag... as he is just constantly spewing crap without thought. Now, I do think he is a good guy, good person, I wish no harm to him, I just don't want to listen to him. I will be glad that when I am forced to listen to a radio broadcast, I won't have to listen to him. I am sure he will be ok financially, he is a husker and part of husker nation, and embrace him for all he has done for the Huskers. Good luck Adrian EDIT: u guys that mention Damon Benning, he is definitely a good analyst, better than good, one of the most thoughtful and accurate.
  12. http://espn.go.com/broadband/espn360/index Just fyi, you can re-watch the game for free on espn 360
  13. I guess you could say, we always have a shot, as do any other team in a BCS conference does. The win last night, was extremely convincing as to where the football program is headed. While there is also "other" news in the college football world, this win gives the Huskers more great press nationally, and will help with recruiting. Offensively, we still have some work to do, but it will get there. I think we have been banged up more than what was really reported, and having more guys healthy for this game showed. What also impressed me is how Zac Lee ran the ball. He showed quick decision making and got North South and ran with determination and attitude. The elbow surgery that was reported after the game, changes allot of how I feel about Lee. I also think he has grown this year, and predict he will be our starting QB next year. Burkhead, what can you say but just WOW! We will have better depth at the oline position next year as well. So, if you add all this up, with a somewhat favorable schedule and it certainly does look very doable. Texas will have to break in a new QB, OU is struggling with theirs, OSU will be breaking in a new QB, KU will be doing the same (Turner will do a great job though), TT will fall off the map and I think the North might even be stronger than the south for a change. I see NU as a favorite for not only the Big12 North, but the Big 12 conference championship as well. This could put us in the national title game, and who else is going to contend next year?
  14. LaTravis, if you see this, now is the time to step up. step up and take ahold of it.. LTW FTW
