Heartbeats4Huskers
Husker Extra - Defense After reading this article it makes me think that Pelini was always saving something in his back pocket for when he got a head coaching job. From the sound of it, it seems like they are doing stuff on the defensive side of the ball that not many people do. Could this defense be revolutionary in the way that the wishbone and spread were revolutionary on offense? Quote Link to comment

Heartbeats4Huskers
Craigkser* already posted this earlier today, but it is a good article.. It was more about what people think of the defensive system than the article, I just put it in there for the reference. Quote Link to comment
Nexus
Yeah I read that earlier this morning. I'd like to think they're a step ahead of everyone else in terms of scheming, methods, etc., but I'm not savvy enough to make such assumptions. So I'll just play my role as a fan and leave the coaching to the coaches. Quote Link to comment
REDSTEEL
I guess the defense has more time to practice since they change things every week for each team their going to face. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
I remember the announcers saying something about how our defensive coverage works in the holiday bowl that just went completely over my head. Quote Link to comment
newenglandhusker
I remember the announcers saying something about how our defensive coverage works in the holiday bowl that just went completely over my head. Jesse Palmer. He said it was a "match-read" (I think) and explained it that the defensive backs read the routes and matchup based on that. Hence receivers will be open one second and not the next. I don't care what he or anyone else calls it...if it's working...I like it! Quote Link to comment
Norm
Why are we trying to run the same offense while we hand out blueprints on how to shut it down? Quote Link to comment
billdozer15
Why are we trying to run the same offense while we hand out blueprints on how to shut it down? Maybe its Bo's way of showing Wats his offense is crap and needs to overhauled. Quote Link to comment
