Nexus
His older brother Joe is also a current Husker multi-sport (football, baseball) athlete. LINK A starter since his freshman season, Broekemeier is a talented quarterback, but also earned all-state recognition for his work as a punter. Hopefully NU pursues this kid in 2011. He'd be a dual-threat in punting situations where we could dial up a fake, since he's also a QB. Furthermore, he's current Husker commit Andrew Rodriguez's HS teammate. Quote Link to comment
whateveritis1224
Let's see how he is coming into next year. We definitely should at least get him here as a preferred walk-on. Quote Link to comment

BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
You think a kid that is a second team All American is gonna walk on? HA! Quote Link to comment
zoogs
I don't think a lot of kickers/punters get scholarship offers out of high school, so it wouldn't be really surprising. Quote Link to comment
husker B-rent
probably walk on. not many of these guys get ships as zoogies said. kickers/punters usually have to earn their ship once they are in the program... Quote Link to comment

We'll see. He might be listed as ATHLETE since he's the QB on his team and who knows if he plays another position on D. Quote Link to comment
