Roy CO HSKR
I've noticed that when I click on Live Events on Huskers.com, only the Maine post game show is indicated. Does that mean that I must subscribe to Nside to receive that game? Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
There has been no word yet on whether the game is going to be televised or not. The University has to receive clearence to broadcast the game through a webcast, and that's why you are only seeing a post game link at the moment. Welcome to the board by the way Quote Link to comment

bigredmaniac
Living in Alabama we don't get alot of Big Red games down here. I've listened the last few years to the live audio casts on Huskers.com. Does Husker's Nside show live television webcasts to the games? Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt
Welcome aboard bigredmaniac! I know theyve done a few in the past, but they are pretty few and far b/t. I imagine they would really be promoting the fact if they were webcasting any games this year, so if they arent listed on the site they probably arent offering any. Quote Link to comment

Roy CO HSKR
Thanks, Blackshirt, for the welcome. The following may be of interest: my question & Husker NSIDE's answer- There is confusiton with posters on various forums regarding the rules of Husker football webcasts. What are the NCAA rules/Husker.com rules determining when Husker.com will webcast live a Husker game? For example, if the game is not commercially televised, under what circumstances will the wesite provide live streaming of the game? The Maine game may fall under this situation. What are the guidelines should a game be commercially televised? Additionally, what are your plans to require membership in NSIDE, before access to the webcast is accessible? I would like to share your answer to several forums. Thanks, Roy The following response is provided: Roy, For us to be able to stream a Football game comes down to TV rights. The TV Networks are still deciding what to do about live streaming and so we sometimes win and sometimes lose. What we have decided to do is post extended highlights of the game so you dont miss out. We are continuing working to get as many live events as we can, but if the TV Network decides not to give us the rights, there isnt anything I can do. But if we tape the event, we will post highlights. Thank you, Jon Barnett HuskersNside Quote Link to comment
dbetz23
It all comes down to money. Right now the Big XII has about 3 games per week on tv; one on TBS, one on FSN, and one on ABC. I think the only way you can see it otherwise if they agree to do it on PPV (so they can make money). I don't know all the details but thats all I know. Quote Link to comment
rawhide
I think all of the broadcast agreements preclude any web streaming of games. Huskers.com used to stream games that werent broadcast but have not done so for at least 2 seasons now ???. I have been relying on PPV or listen to audiocasts on Huskers Nside. Quote Link to comment
husker in soonerland
The Maine game will be a Fox Sports pay-per-view game according to sources close to the program. I hope I can get it in OK Quote Link to comment
