From Columbus, Ohio..WELCOME TO THE BIG TEN!!!

Recommended Posts

It's nice to see a number of Big Ten fans coming here with their salutations and welcomings.

Now where are the Purdue & Indiana representatives? Don't make us come looking for ya..... :bat

Oh you will have to look for them. I thought I saw one once, out of the corner of my eye, but it was just a banana walking down the street in a trench coat (I mean corn, sorry).

Let's just say they don't post much. Michigan, Mich. State, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Iowa are the posters. Illinois and Indiana mainly post about basketball. Purdue is primarily upset that they have few girls there and the ones they have have faces that could rot the skin off a cow.

It's very gratifying to have so many Big 10 fans welcome NU. I'm a Nebr alum, living in Illinois. I met with friends at lunch today. Got Big 10 welcomes from Wisconsin, Illinois and Purdue alums. It felt great!

For those who are new to this board I'd like to confirm that the moderators WILL enforce decency and WILL ban those trolls who make crude attacks on others. THAT'S WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS BOARD!

One of the things I'm most proud of is the way NU fans respect opponents. Big 10 fans might not know this, but Florida State visited NU in Lincoln years ago and won the game. The NU fans gave them a standing ovation at the end of the game. Its the kind of class that makes me proud to be a BIG RED FAN and proud to be part of the Big 10.

I guess it depends on who you ask. I am not sure that my loyalties will follow the huskers to the big ten. If the Big 12 would go get Notre Dame, my loyalties would stay with the big 12 instead of staying with Nebraska. This is a sad day for many Husker and Big 12 fans!

Don't let the door knob hit ya in the backside I guess.

Oh, so you are angry because I don't like the big ten? or what is your problem? I think it is absolutely wonderful, that the big ten fans will now get to come to Lincoln... whatever! How would you feel if Ohio State left the big ten and joined the ACC? I don't think you would like it either, so kma. Those of us with loyalties to both Nebraska and the big twelve are in a bad position now. Since you are obviously the smartest MF in the world, you should realize that not everyone is happy about this move. Finally, if you want to meet me in Lincoln, to discuss this without talking, I will be happy to oblige.

I can only imagine the showings you will get your first year in Nebraska from Big Ten fans. I hope they alot more tickets to opposing teams for this-- my fellow Buckeye in Atlanta and I are already planning on going to the first game tOSU has there. We want to see it!

(You have an airport right? Not trying to be mean. . .)

Yes we have an airport. We are not Manhattan or Lawrence

and Omaha has a very large one as well (less than 45 minutes from Lincoln). I hear that Lincoln is nice and not too expensive to get into.

I'm really impressed with the overwhelming welcome by so many Big 10 fans. There seems to be a clear solidarity within the conference that is readily apparent--as is in the SEC. This didn't seem to be the case in 1995 when the SWC joined with the Big 8 and never really formed.

Looking forward to some epic battles!

Don't kid yourself... Nebraska is and will continue to lose some fans over this move. It is a chicken-_ _ _ _ move, and that shows loyalty can be purchased. So we should just say goodbye to history? No more Oklahoma / Nebraska games, but I'm sure Nebraska / Illinois will be a show-stopper. What happens now to Nebraska if we cannot win the big 10? Do we go the WAC then? If Nebraska wants more money, they need to start winning more games. I have lost alot of respect for Nebraska and Tom Osborne over this. I know alot of Big Ten fans, and I can tell you right now that there isn't more solidarity in the big ten than in the big 12. You won't find a Michigan fan rooting for Iowa or Michigan State to win a non-conference game, not like you would see a Texas or Oklahoma fan rooting for Nebraska. I can guarantee you that! Is the big ten finally going to start having a championship game? The only reason, and I mean the ONLY reason that big ten fans are welcoming this move, is because they have always thought the big ten to be a much tougher conference than the big twelve, and they all think they are going to march into Lincoln and pound on Nebraska. I can tell you right now, that this move would not have been so welcomed back in Nebraska's glory days! Just think about it.

How old are you? How can you have such loyalty to the Big 12? The conference is 14 years old.

So what is your point?

why would it matter how old the big 12 is? I was a big 8 fan prior to the big twelve. It matters not though. Can you not think of anything more intelligent than "how old are you" ? You may not agree with me, and I don't really care, but what I said is true.

Hmmm...

Firstly, just so we're clear on this point, Huskers: not every Buckeye fan habitually shows up at the party fifteen minutes early, already drunk, and starts smashing the furniture.

On to happier thoughts...Welcome to the Big Ten (eleven, twelve, whatever), Husker Nation. OSU fans (the other OSU) love it that you've joined us. The future looks exciting--the beginning of great new traditions and rivalries. Can't wait for 2011!

Welcome to the Big 10! Really looking forward to the future with Nebraska as part of our family. This is a great day.

big buckeyes fan here, can't wait to start playing you guys on the gridiron.

I feel the same way toward Ohio State as I do towards Mizzou..... no other teams that I would like to see lose every game. However, I am so angry over this move by the Huskers that I would laugh if Nebraska loses every game. I guess "Go Big Red" means "Run Big Red".... If you can't win the big 12, change conferences. No pride left what-so-ever in Lincoln.
