knapplc
Please watch the tape from the KSU game and tell me again, how this team loses 4 games with a true freshman running that offense compared to Lee. NU would've been 13-1 with Taylor last year. Couple of things. We have no idea if the Taylor Martinez we're seeing now is the Taylor Martinez we would have seen this time last year. There is zero doubt Martinez has skills, but undisciplined raw skills don't always equate to success. He could have excelled like this last year... or he could have flubbed up big time. There's no way of knowing. Second, last year's line was horrific compared to this year's line. Tommie Frazier wouldn't have made a lot of difference in games last year where so many D-Linemen and LBs were in our offensive backfield so often. The health of the line cannot be overlooked in assessing 2009. Quote Link to comment
Pedro Guerrero
If Martinez was ready to play last year he would have. He wasn’t so he didn’t. He would not have led us to a 13-1 record because he wasn’t ready to play yet and to think he would have is crazy talk. Just because he looks awesome this year doesn’t mean he would have been just as awesome last year with a OL that was never 100% and was nowhere near where it is today. Quote Link to comment
