Apathy
I have a lot of Hawkeye fans on my moms side of the family and they never talk trash about the Huskers. I do work with several hawkeye fans who talk so much crap about Nebraska to the point where it would be worth being fired over to punch them in their face. I've never said one word about any of their losses because I'm not that type of fan but yet they still keep running their stupid mouths when Nebraska losses. Now they are calling the heads of all of the coaching staff to be fired but to honest Kirk Ferentz has been the best thing to happen to Iowa in a long time. Quote Link to comment
BornRedCornFed
lose your first game > lose your last game logical. transitive property = Nevada > Boise > VT. Quote Link to comment
DSMHusker1
Ha ha! Iowa dropped off the top-20 after getting beat by Minnesota. Iowa pretty much quit showing up to games after they beat Mich. State back in Oct. An epic crash and burn of the season. And I F'N LOVE IT! Can't wait to pound those pukes next year! You see, I live amongst them and they HATE US! They hate everything about us. I don't really want a rivalry with UI, because that implies that they will win some games hear and there. I just want to smash them every year. Embarassing demoralizing losses that makes hawk fan want to throw their gear away. Yeah, that's it Iowa is going to be a slightly classier version of Colorado, which is probably why they are scheduled when they are. Amen BRI, Amen. iowa fans suck. PERIOD. If some of my Husker brethren that still live in the Homeland(AKA Nebraska) subjected themselves to the general D-baggery of hawkeye fan on a daily basis, they would understand the hate. The local talk radio(mostly pukeye's) help fuel the fire by talking up their team and generally disrespecting UN. These tools put themselves on the same level as Nebraska and alot of them put them on a higher plateau......Serious. I'm still trying to figure out why. We now have former AM590 reject Matt Perault here for the afternoon drive show. HE HATES US. He is on record many times stating that he will be sporting the black and gold proudly on the saturday after Thanksgiving. He can't wait to see UN lose to Iowa..... Sorry you Boston wanna be.....it ain't happenin. Quote Link to comment
CFHusker
I live right in the Hawkeye Nation. I get disturbed everytime I have to hear about how the Hawks are equivalent to the Huskers. I quickly remind them they have a very bare trophy case. I love going to Lincoln and texting the Hawk fans a picture of the TROPHIES. Although I do really like Ferentz. I have attended quite a few I club events and he is always entertaining. Quote Link to comment
Hujan
Not going to complain, but what about this weekend caused the pollsters to shoot us past Missouri? Whether or not Missouri should be ranked behind us or not, the fact is, they were ahead last week. Both teams had impressive victories against bad teams, and we gain 70 points on them. Just another in countless examples of pollster logic, or lack thereof. I noticed the same thing. We jumped A&M too. Poor A&M. They beat Oklahoma and Nebraska in successive weeks and are ranked behind both of us. Oh well. Here's my thought on our ranking: I think the drop after the A&M game was more reactive to the overall state of our program as it appeared to outsiders. I mean, in one weekend, we lost a big road game, were embroiled in controversy, lost our starting QB to injury, etc. I think a lot of pollsters (and many people on HB) half expected us to implode and lose to Colorado. When we rebounded and took CU behind the woodshed, I think a lot of pollsters put us more or less back where we belong. Cliff Notes version: We were punished too harshly after losing to A&M, perhaps due to fears that our program was going to disintegrate. Now that it looks like we'll be just fine, the pollsters are putting us back in action. Quote Link to comment
HuskerJosh
Virginia Tech lost to an FCS school. They don't deserve to be ranked. Quote Link to comment
ladyhawke
Ok, please correct me if I'm wrong, but when I watched the BCS standings on tv just awhile ago, they had Missouri ahead of Nebraska! What is up with that? We beat them dang good and we're going to our championship. Why would they be ahead of us? Please tell me I'm wrong! -ladyhawke~ 1 Oregon (36) 11-0 1475 1 2 Auburn (23) 12-0 1456 2 3 TCU (1) 12-0 1383 4 4 Wisconsin 11-1 1289 5 5 Stanford 11-1 1283 7 6 Ohio State 11-1 1184 8 7 Michigan State 11-1 1098 11 8 Arkansas 10-2 1094 12 9 Boise State 10-1 908 3 10 Oklahoma 10-2 886 14 11 LSU 10-2 856 6 12 Virginia Tech 10-2 761 13 13 Nebraska 10-2 740 16 14 Nevada 11-1 736 19 15 Missouri 10-2 691 15 16 Oklahoma State 10-2 599 10 17 Alabama 9-3 597 9 18 South Carolina 9-3 591 18 19 Texas A&M 9-3 582 17 20 Florida State 9-3 356 22 21 Utah 10-2 249 23 22 Mississippi State 8-4 224 25 23 West Virginia 8-3 147 NR 24 Northern Illinois 10-2 130 NR 25 Hawaii 9-3 43 NR Quote Link to comment
