ladyhawke
Here is info on the Rudy Awards in case anyone is interested. Nice write up on Alex. I can't believe that 'the most accurate kicker in NCAA history' did not win the Groza Award. Man! What were those people thinking???? Anyway, I hope he wins the Rudy. He deserves it (He also deserved the Groza!!) The award is given on January 11, 2011. http://collegerudyawards.com/press/cfra-press-finalists2010.htm GO ALEX-GBR! Quote Link to comment
NUance
University of Nebraska senior kicker Alex Henery is the most accurate kicker in NCAA history. He began his career as a walk-on before earning a scholarship and setting nearly every Nebraska kicking record. Alex went from a little-known walk-on to a player who has earned the respect of everyone in the football program. He was only offered a soccer scholarship out of high school, but has turned into arguably the top kicker in college football. He is a three-time Second-Team All-Big 12 selection, two-time Lou Groza Award semi-finalist and Nebraska’s all-time leading scorer. He also won the Brook Berringer Citizenship Team award, given for community outreach. Well, the respect of everyone in college football except this year's Groza nomination committee. BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
I don't think Alex will win. Besides being a walk-on he didn't have much to overcome compared to the others. Quote Link to comment
