5 Things That NEED To Happen

Yep, it's a downright scary scenario of going into that Big10 schedule with SW/Gilmore leading our "multiple" 3 & out offense. C'mon Bo......get it done!!

WHAT WE NEED TO HAPPEN:

 

We need to go back to having 2 O-Line coaches. One for pass blocking and one for Run blocking. Neither of which should be named Cotton. We need to get a full back into the offense that can help protect and on occasion blast through on a full back draw and get major yards and or Touch Downs. We need drills that help train the guys to hold onto the ball, and receivers catch the damn thing. We need receivers like Abdul Mohamed and Clester Johnson that can knok the SH1T out of you and still get down field and burn you if you are a little timid of the slobber Knocker they just laid on you.

 

 

 

We need Offensive linemen that are hungry for PANCAKES, we need a QB that will lead the team even when they are on the bench watching the Defense saving their collective A$$E$ Time and Time again.

 

 

 

We need coaches that will take the blinders off and see past the tunnel vision they have.

 

 

 

We need a taller stadium so that these undisciplined players that fumble the ball, commit penalties, and need motivation can run. Obviously this stadium does not intimidate them worth a SH1T.

 

 

 

We Need IPADS out of the locker rooms, and some old fashioned ass chewings

 

 

 

We need a coach that is not about to have an aneurism after each call against us and focuses so much on that, that he forgets we still have a football game to play.

 

 

 

WE NEED A GUT CHECK, if playing for the Huskers is not motivation enough it is time to find something else to do. Can you imagine Grant Wistrom or Jason Peter allowing the B.S. like what is going on with these guys attitude to continue.

 

 

 

We need players that dont drink and drive or pee in public. Stop being stupid the cops are looking for you. Dumb Asses.

 

 

 

We need a killer instinct from the coaches to the water boy. NO WAY should this team get up 17 points and lose. No way should this team lose to a texass team that cannot make it to a bowl, No way should this team lose to a team we demolished just 3 months prior and they barely were bowl eligible.

 

 

 

Yes we need to wake the f%#@ up and re-evaluate where we want to be and how we want to get there.

2. Martinez needs to be moved to WR. (Unless Green/Turner/Starling can't improve on throwing the ball).

 

3. Screen passes need to be called.

 

4. Quit fumbling and dropping the football!!! IF you do so you DON'T play. Only solution.

 

5. WR's need to be taught how to run routes besides the 5 yard slant.

Martinez is 6'1". That is plenty tall enough to throw a dump pass to RB with good hands like Burkhead. Besides he should have enough speed to really draw the lineman back (it's not like he doesn't give up plenty of sacks by holding onto the ball too long). And why would Watson "better land a new job"? Because it would make some people feel better? Just because our defense and special teams have bailed us out of some games doesn't mean that the offense is progressing. If anything we got worse as the year went on. Obviously Tmart being hobbled was part of that (and having Lee be injured) but the fumbles, mental mistakes, and O line play have become systemic to the point where those coaches should be given their walking papers.

I could care less if Watson is out of job for the rest of his life. He makes $380,000 to do what???? Martinez will almost 99% stay at QB, but if I was coach I would open the job up and have them compete, and also let him know if he moves to WR or Safety he will have a chance in the NFL (not QB). He's 6'1---You dont have to be 6'7 to throw a screen pass, hell you dont have to be 6'0 IMO. Yes they sit if they keep fumbling--dont people realize how costly turnovers are? 5 yard slants detailed? This is our only route run besides the prayer fly route we throw to Paul once every other game.

You know, the blocking was bad. Someone brought it up to me (not a Husker fan by the way) that our Offensive line seems very one dimensonal come game time. They either pass block very well but are horrible at run blocking, or run block very well but do a bad job at pass block. So when the defense figures our the offense and we switch from a run to a pass, the offensive line never makes that mental switch.

 

I mean, i used to play high school football, and our coach always told us, if we pass block we always keep the defense in front of us, never let them get on the outside of you, that is how you protect the pocket for the QB, during a run play, its ok to let them get to the outside, but just keep them out of the running lane and keep them in front of you. It seems to me that to Cotton, this philosophy doesn't translate to college.

Remember what happened the last time we jumped to conclusions over a 10 win season?

 

I agree, the offense stinks, but lets give Bo a chance to be the coach and make some tough decisions. If he wants to find a new OC, so be it. I would put Ron Brown in charge of wide receivers, and reassign or cut ties with Rod Gilmore. It seems our TE's are our best receivers, and Ron Brown's resume speaks for itself.

 

Maybe we can get things rolling with Jamal Turner and HOPEFULLY Bubba Starling.

 

How soon until Spring practice?
