95huskers
http://www.huskers.c...OEM_ID=100&KEY= Also available on HSN flagship affiliates. 1400 am in Lincoln 880 in Lexington and possibly 1110am Omaha. So what you guys think? Gumbo, we know, we know.... This weekend seems like it should be a chance to get back to a winning record. I don't know much about the opponents this weekend, but I think we should make some hay. Hopefully the guys buckle down and get rid of the majority of the errors especially in late innings. I'm looking forward to this weekend and the rest of the season to watch these guys get molded into a team that is respectable. Edit: From huskers.com Sophomore Zach Hirsch will get the ball once again to open the weekend for the Huskers on Friday, while sophomore Jon Keller will start the first game on Saturday and junior Tom Lemke will start his first game of the 2012 season on Saturday night. True freshman Kyle Kubat will get the ball on Sunday for the second straight weekend. The Huskers are a combined 4-1 against their opponents this weekend, with the only loss coming to Utah during the 2001 season. Scouting Utah The Utes opened the season with a four-game series at UC Davis and went 1-3 on the trip, including a 9-8 loss in 10 innings to close out the series. Preseason All-American Shaun Cooper has struggled out of the gate with a .133 batting average. A Louisville Slugger third-team selection, Cooper did hit a two-run home run against UC Davis on Monday in the top of the ninth to tie the game. Infielder James Brooks has shined for Utah, as the senior hit .313 with two doubles and a three-run home run. In 2011, Brooks hit .372 and scored 55 runs, while tying for eighth nationally in doubles with 26. Morin Parker has also been solid at the plate with a team-high .375 batting average. Parker, who has started two games and catcher and two at designated hitter in 2012, leads the team with five RBI's. Closer Tyler Wagner set a school record and ranked 26th nationally in saves last season with 12, but has struggled so far in 2012 through two appearances. Wagner has a 7.71 ERA and is 0-1 on the year with three earned runs over 2.1 innings of work. Series History: The Huskers and Utes have previously met three times, with the first meeting coming in 1979. The Huskers won the first two games in the series before Utah won 7-6 during the 2001 season. Quote Link to comment

huskerswrkhavoc
We need to come out of this weekend 3-1. 4-0 would be great, but I would be happy at 3-1. If we somehow do come out with a sweep, that would be a huge momentum builder for the team. It'd be nice to see a couple of games close late, just to get some pressure situations for our bullpen.
