n.e.husker
How much longer can he go? What happens next? Is there a succession plan in place? These were once sensitive topics around Osborne. Bring them up and risk making the man feel like he's being pushed out. Nobody's trying to do that. After speaking with Osborne on Thursday, I had the impression he has a timetable. He can see the light at the end of the tunnel. And, for the first time, he said he would be glad to help pick his successor — if asked. Osborne doesn't have a contract. He says he works "at the prerogative" of Chancellor Harvey Perlman, who loves the job Osborne has done since Steve Pederson was fired in October 2007. Why wouldn't he? Osborne has been tremendous. http://www.omaha.com/article/20120225/BIGRED/702259845/-1#shatel-staying-too-long-not-an-option-for-osborne Quote Link to comment
HuskerCarter
It is going to be a sad day in Nebraska when he passes away. Hopefully that won't be for 20 years. In Nebraska he will be remembered as a legend, but unfortunately, nationally he won't get close to half the credit that he deserves. Quote Link to comment
tschu
Dude has a more agressive workout routine than I do. Nothing like a 75-year-old guy to make you feel like a weak, lazy piece of sh#t Quote Link to comment
