Eric Dickerson finished third in the 1982 Heisman trophy voting. He was half of the famous "Pony Express" running back duo from SMU (with Craig James). Link to comment

Can't get over the feeling that, with what was going on at SMU those years, Dickerson's performance wasn't aided in some way by their cheating ways. He sure was a dominate running back though.
