Prosecutors allege Scott Walker at center of 'criminal scheme'

Recommended Posts

This story has been flying a bit under the national radar. I suppose it'll get a little more attention if Walker decides to run in 2016.

Prosecutors allege Gov. Scott Walker was at the center of an effort to illegally coordinate fundraising among conservative groups to help his campaign and those of Republican state senators fend off recall elections during 2011 and '12, according to documents unsealed Thursday.

In the documents, prosecutors lay out what they call an extensive "criminal scheme" to bypass state election laws by Walker, his campaign and two top Republican political operatives — R.J. Johnson and Deborah Jordahl.

Well, this will be interesting on many levels. If prosecutors are successful here, expect to see about 1,324,456,819 similar law suits filed across the country.

Maybe this is the start of something changing with outside groups "not working with campaigns" (wink wink) while behind the scenes they get huge amounts of money to influence races with lies and made up crap.

Walker's response:

- nothing to see here folks, another left wing hit job on an effective conservative just trying to do his job (just thought I'd use the normal left wing line back at them).

Seriously, I hope there is nothing here - as in all cases - only time will tell. I think Walker has done a good job in Wisc and he has most definitely ruffled some left wing feathers.
