Mavric
Sounds like Keels is on the right track. I've seen several reports over the last couple months that he was dealing with some personal issues this spring which was really taking away from concentrating on football. Sounds like he's spent a lot of time in the playbook - and a lot of time with McMullen - over the summer and is catching on. Also looks better from a strength and conditioning standpoint. Hopefully he can be at least a solid backup come game time. Quote Link to comment
Warrior10
Mike'l Severe @MikelSevere 58s When Gregory gets Lewis they have a chat. Working on each other strengths and weaknesses. Cotton is a beast. With bad hair. Quote Link to comment

Warrior10
Saw a picture of Keels early today from Monday's practice. Looked pretty impressive, looked like he maybe lost/replaced some bad weight since the spring. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Papuchis says Gangwish has taken control of one of the backup DE spots. Several competing for the other backup spot. I think Keels is coming on strong. I'd like to see him and Gangwish own those spots this year and redshirt Newell and King. 1 Quote Link to comment
Scratchtown
Here is the article about the DE's specifically about Gangwish. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/2014/red-report-gangwish-making-strong-push-to-be-backup-d/article_33acca46-fe51-5f2c-a89d-72e949147f4d.html?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed Quote Link to comment
SouthAfricanHusker
As long as RG4 stays healthy we will be fine at DE this year. He changes the game so much with his abilities. McMullen is solid for a strong side DE but does do anything the other backups or Collins (if he slides over) can do. The reason it looks bad is we haven't seen any if the backups play ball yet. I actually like our DE depth with the caveat of RG4. Quote Link to comment
RedRex
"Motor guy"...that was exactly my thought when I first saw this guy in the 3 on 1 drill in spring game 2 yrs ago. I'd say this is the perfect example of what we want from our walk-on program. Attack, attack, and attack the LOS until the will of the guy across from you starts to crumble. Dominating the LOS can be as simple as forcing at least one OLineman to scrap the plan and react on every down. Get 2 guys to react and the mayhem potential goes way up. If Gangwish can bring to the field what he's bringing to practice I can see a schollie in his future. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Gangwish was the first sub with the 1s today. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Sounds like Gangwish, Natter and Keels will all get work against FAU. Quote Link to comment
