The Dude
Anyone know where a guy could find some decent lightweight backpacking/camping gear that won't break the bank? Doesn't have to be top-of-the-line stuff, decent and affordable is what I'm after. Looking for tents, sleeping pads, stoves, cookware ect. I guess shopping around would be the way to go, just wondering if anyone had any insight into where to start. Quote Link to comment

Sierra Trading Post is pretty great. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/ Also, if you want to go really cheap you can make a pretty serviceable penny stove with beer cans and an hour of work. http://www.jureystudio.com/pennystove/stoveinstruct.html Quote Link to comment

grahm3
Could look at hammocks instead of a tent. I don't backpack but have been looking at getting an Eagles Nest Outtfitters setup to try this summer to keep in my Jeep for when I'm out but not at my cabin. Quote Link to comment
